Searched and didn't see anything posted. SIAP

The 59-year-old Middleton Library that sits in the middle of The Quad at LSU would be demolished under plans presented Friday to the LSU Board of Supervisors.
About 2 million square feet would be replaced with the removal of several building on campus and the construction of others. Lockett Hall, which was built in the 1970s and is home for many math classes, is another slated to be torn down if the Board approves the final Master Plan, which will be presented, along with a timeline and budget over the summer.

for us old times, those buildings were nice when we sat on our asses, skipping classes and checking out chicks in the Quad.

Wasn't the demolition of those two buildings part of Mark Emmert's master plan 17 years ago? It's one thing to talk about it, its another to actually do it.

IIRC from early photos I've seen posted, the original design of "The Quad" was actually a cross.
And the monstrosity of an eyesore, that is called Middleton, was plopped right in the middle of the cross bar.

The Quad or the ultimate "viewing benches" are not going anywhere. If anything, the beauty and the beauties of The Quad will be enhanced by the exterior aesthetics of a redesign WITHOUT Middleton.

Correct.

while trying to find pics of that original design, I did stumble upon this article about the HPL Field House... be sure to check out the TIME magazine pic of the floating model in the pool!

To the person who downvoted me, I didn't say I spent much time in them! Hence 5 years for a 4 year degree! Just they were MUCH MUCH NEWER!

FIFY

Glad I just graduated. That sounds like a traffic/construction nightmare
The construction of the new engineering building was bad enough

This has been a long time coming. Landscape architecture students were studying the removal of Middleton, Lockett, & CEBA 15 years ago. They did not fit the architecture of campus.

About time. Those buildings have needed to be redone over a decade ago.

This is how a dumbass/democrat runs a university. "We have no money omg!" "Let's tear crap down and build new stuff with the money we don't have!" Pathetic.
