TE's route to the nfl ain't Clemson. They're a pass first, running back expendable program. Kid won't be welcome back to La. so he better get a good degree in South Carolina.

Of course he'll be welcomed back. There's a good chance no one will even know who he is.

Man, I feel you. But as long as you put God first and family second you can't fail. Face hardships, yes. Failure isn't an option for a person with purpose. That's all I'm saying. If he doesn't know his exact purpose, he will definitely walk into it in due time of course. That's why idk why people just not respecting the fact that he's representing the state of Louisiana wherever he goes. People are frickin crazy as hell if they don't understand that it's important to support products of Louisiana as long as they are representing us in a positive manner. So sorry not sorry, that I don't believe LSU is the only way to do that.
Your original post is wrong and this one is wrong too.
However you want to slice it, your saying that Etienne is going to Clemson because he wanted his butt kissed more by LSU. You're implying that LSU is somehow in the wrong because like every other school in the country, they had Akers higher on their board than Travis and Akers showed meaningful interest in coming here. LSU loves Travis and they want him to come and he will be afforded every opportunity to succeed in a run-first offense that sends BACKUPS to the NFL. If I were Travis, I'd just use the whole Akers thing as motivation (the same way Guice used his desire to be seen equally as Fournette to make himself better).
If you are correct about his motivations, this sport - college football - where every year the hot new recruit comes in to try to take what you have, is going to eat him up. Frankly, I don't want someone so thin-skinned suiting up in the purple and gold. So I hope to God for LSU's sake that you are way off and TE comes home. And if he does choose Clemson, let's hope he does so for the right reasons, without emotion and not for the reasons you state. Because the reasons you state are the reasons of someone who ends up not making it.

Please research and see how many young men between the age of 17-35 years have been killed or arrested in Jennings over the past 10 years. Not everyone was a trouble maker. Based on the population that's enough to concern an individual looking for a way out. You can't begin to fathom what goes on if you don't live there. #Facts but yes, that sucks that they were dragging their feet
I'm from Jennings too, and you don't know what you are talking about. Jennings is no different than any other small town in the US and it's probably better than most small towns in Louisiana when it comes to violent crime.

Jennings, Louisiana, violent crime, on a scale from 1 (low crime) to 100, is 32. Violent crime is composed of four offenses: murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. The US average is 41.4.

Facts..... Killing bullshite stories since the beginning of time.

I don't get the melt about a running back from louisiana. The state produces 2 or 3 Travis Etienne's a year and it is the quickest position to transition from high school to college. LSU will be just fine at the running back position. When was the last time LSU had trouble putting a quality rb on the field.

LSU is his state school. Their MO over the last 15 years is to identify in state talent early on and offer promptly. When they wait until a kids SR season is over that isn't going to sit well. Not when he has other great offers on the table.
Neither are insulting.
LSU having Akers on the board higher than Etienne isn't an insult...it's what everyone else also had.

Clemson offering late is not insulting like LSU offering late.
If you think Clemson offered late just because it was their MO...and not because they had kids rated higher than Etienne, you (like Etienne) are fooling yourself.
Clemson is a great offer. It's reasonable to pick Clemson over LSU. But it's a joke to pretend that Clemson wanted him more than LSU.

Not like it matters, but I have no problem if Travis decides to go to Clemson.... We did offer him late, he has not played our fan base for a attention he doesn't troll.... If he makes his decision of what's best for him I will definitely has one LSU fan respect it

Nobody is really melting. If he goes to Clemson, there are a dozen legitimate reasons to justify it. Unfortunately, the OP of this thread is coming with straight bullshite reasons. That's what the backlash in this thread is about.

Is this a joke, or you just haven't been on this site for a couple of days? The melt was very real and hilarious.
Now...I think it's fair to say that nobody is really melting now that the Phillips news broke. But from the time Shea put in the CB to Clemson, compounded with the Allen "news" there was definitely a melt going on.
