And he doesn't owe LSU... playing field is now even. Right? No one owes anybody anything

Not a recruit board guy, but if that is the case, going to Clemson is an example of running away and seeing about himself first. If Jennings = Baton Rouge, then staying home and making a difference is the best way to achieve that goal.

I just think that if he fails at CLemson, he will be in a worse position than if he were to fail in LA. The Clemson folks wont take care of him because he washed out at CLemson. The Jennings/Baton Rouge folks would take care of him if he washed out at LSU.

Its kind of a fail safe to stay home, imo. You succeed, regardless of LSU or CLemson, you get NFL money, etc. You fail, you are at least taken care of a bit and all if you stay home.

That being said, God knows I would have done something crazy at 18 so there is no reason to fault a kid for doing what he feels.

Has nothing to do with "dumbing down." I grew up 20 minutes from Jennings and spent most of my life in South Louisiana. I've never heard anyone from that area say "Southern" Louisiana.

Didn't say that. And I don't believe that. We're not talking about everyone else's fans right now. Not to mention I said "some"

At 18 I funneled beer for breakfast while my roommate poured fruit loops in.

My eighteen year on is on honors TOPS at LSU in the Fall and she can't do even the simplest things. It's 18. You know a lot about "being cool" and about popular culture and not much else.

That said, the kid can't go wrong with either choice if he works hard. But dogging the home state school won't help his rep in his own state because people defend their loyalties and fight for their tribe.Human nature to defend your own.

Why do you feel like a person can only be great at LSU? So you saying he can't expand his horizons and try something different to give hope? Oh ok? Now that's STUPID

Clemson just won a national championship and has fun offense to watch. Nobody should be surprised that a running back would be drawn to them right now.

No one said that. You said "He's not chasing LSU's legacy... he's creating his own" like he's the first fricking kid to leave the state.

Looks like if we lose out on him and with Akers going to FSU, Orgeron and Canada sooner rather than later are going to have to become a more pass oriented team

The issue there is that they don't put as many in the league, and they aren't regarded on the same level as the QB and WRs. Just look at this year. Gallman had good stats, but if ESPN is talking about them, it's all about Watson and the 2 primary WRs. Then the RB. That's how it will be in their system, no matter how good you are.

from the mean streets of Jennings. It's so easy to get into trouble in Southern Louisiana and hard as hell to get out.

Since TE is this "

Travis is God fearing, intelligent, educated, humble, hard working,
then he won't have to worry about all the other BS. Smart, educated, intelligent and God fearing kids know how to stay out of trouble.

Good kids aren't exempt from danger

No one is either in Baton Rouge or Clemson, just look at the players at Clemson that have gotten in trouble. No school or community is immune!!!!!!

quote:

after being DENIED by Akers

Clemson was no different, they just started a hard push on TE also, cut it out with your Clemson trolling bullshite!!!!!

TE - if you are reading this most schools are a like. Clemson is no different than LSU as far as schools and programs the difference is ALL of your family and friends will get a chance to watch you play every Saturday because you will be able to convienantly travel to ALL SEC sites and LSU is just 90minutes away. You grew up loving LSU, stick with your heart!!!! LSU and Louisisana and it people will love you forever!!! Love Purple, Live Gold!!!!!
