I've seen people that do the same with shrooms to combat severe cluster headaches. The fact that we don't pursue medical research like this is mind boggling.

It's harder to overdose on LSD than it is to overdose with almost any over the counter medication. It's speculated that it would take 2000 hits to kill a human but it's never been done to date.
