No comment on his abilities, but he was a big LSU fan from way back. In his early days as a student and journalist in Chicago he claimed he could pick up LSU games on WWL (New Orleans) on his car radio so he became a big fan of LSU football that way.

I agree with this. I think he's been a lot better since he got paired with Jesse Palmer for the SEC games. They've been a good team.
I didn't care for him in the ABC Primetime slot, but now I think it's more a reflection of disliking Herbstreit's color commentary.

I met Brent this fall the Friday before Ole Miss outside Mike's habitat right after he passed. He said nothing compared to a gameday in Baton Rouge.
