The L is everywhere! I love it!

An Oregon insider on 247 just CB'ed him to LSU. No idea who the guy is, but I'll sure as heck take it!

We really really need TE. I think he's going to be an unbelievable RB and possibly returner. Remember, can't teach speed, and he's got topnotch speed...

I can see why Les wasn't high on him, but Canda will be able to utilize his strengths much better. He seems very similar to Melvin Gordon who Canada coached at Wisconsin. He won't be a pount it between the tackles 20 times a game like Ridley, Scott, Fournette etc. He seems more similar to a Keiland Williams.

His calves are half the size of Keiland William's...

People talk about Louisiana like we are trash! Should use this against rivals to keep our kids at LSU

Well I know we have our purple and gold goggles but he is wearing orange and white in that pick. Just hope he is all LSU on NSD

Wait till Moffit gets ahold of him

Schools dress out the recruits in jerseys or full gear on their recruiting visits. It is intended to make the recruit feel special wearing that school's colors.
I wonder what Dabo thought when he sees this picture of Etienne fully dressed in Clemson gear on his visit there but then flashing the "L".

Etienne is not a small back. He's 205 as we speak. By his sophomore year he'll be 215-220 easy. If he puts in the work in the weight room like I think he will, he'll be a beast when Guice is gone. Remember Guice was only 205 when Moffitt got a hold of him and look how he turned out.

From all appearances Orgeron recruited Etienne exactly the same as Miles. Orgeron has been the head coach for most of the season but only just offered Etienne a few weeks ago.
I do not think it was a matter of LSU not being high on Etienne. They have room for two running backs in this class. LSU, as I am sure most every other school in the country, had Akers rated higher than Etienne. LSU was legitimately in the hunt for Akers so they waited to offer Etienne until after they lost Akers.
This is the type of decision most every recruiter has to make with their class. Had LSU taken Etienne and gone for three running backs in the class, it still would have hurt the chances for Akers by having three RBs in their class.
Had the gamble to get Akers worked, few would have second guessed putting Etienne on hold. I guess he could get his feelings hurt with the late LSU offer and go to Clemson, but Clemson just offered as well.
Personally I think Etienne is enjoying the late attention. He knows LSU doesn't have any good options for their second spot at RB at this point besides him. I think he is a heavy favorite to come to LSU. I think Orgeron and Miles handled this recruitment the same way, they waited on Akers.

All Canada needs to say is "I beat Clemson with Pitt."

I agree ?? with your assessment. However, I think many are sleeping on Etienne simply because he is not a "five star" like Akers.
Both are talented. I posted on here a few weeks ago about how Etienne is a 5 star RB if I have ever seen one.
If any site had given Etienne a fifth star, folks would be calling the staff crazy for even considering Akers over Etienne. I think the staff played this correctly by going after Akers first.
That said, Etienne is not a downgrade. It's like trying to reward the smartest kid in the class, when one has a 98 A, /land the other has a 96 A. People get too caught up with stars instead of trusting what they see.
TE is a straight up beast. And being that he is used to taking handoffs, and not running from the QB position in a spread offense makes me feel a lot more comfortable about the skills translating easily to the next level (LSU).
Of course we wanted Akers, and denying that he is a great talent is idiotic, but feeling that Etienne is somehow a downgrade, is simply based on star ratings. People need to get over this Star rating BS. It is cool for filtering talent, but I never can grasp much power the media had over swaying people's opinions. Instead of trusting what you see.

I don't think there are many people are discounting TEs talent. Akers was the 1st choice with a limited number of slots allotted to RB. When Akers went FSU we immediately offered TE.
I think the dominating sentiment is that TE is a must get in this class. If he doesn't come here the team won't collapse as it won't because we didn't get Akers, but he would be a great addition to the team and should excel under Canada's system.
