and heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere we go.

cad says: page napoleon and buy a refurb direct drive whirlpool from the 90s from him.

OT says: buy $1000 speed queen which is...the same as the refurb whirlpool from the 90s napoleon can sell you at a fraction of the cost.

or go on craigslist and find a set on your own. you'll do just about as well.

your choice. they will work about the same.

I recommend Samsung washing machines. I don't know anyone that's having any problems with theirs.

OT will say speed queen.

Maytag and whirlpool are also good. Go with top load all mechanical.

We're probably going to go with a Speed Queen top load. Not fancy but they're supposed to last 20 years.

Depends on the space...My wife is getting older and if she is kneeling down for something, it's not for putting clothes in a front loading washer...but we had to have the stackable front loaders for w/d

hard to find new thanks to energy star compliance. you'll need to look used if you go this route.

If you want clean clothes go with the top load.

Top load

One I have now is a Samsung that I've had for a 1.5 years (on the recall model list) but haven't had any issues.

If you get a front load, don't cheap out by not getting the stand/platform that raises it.

100 years to perfect washing machine (late 80s early 90s) and along came energy star and the need for $300 platforms to 'raise' up front loading machines that work like shite turning a routine $400 purchase (for the set) into $2000+ overnight.

thanks obama.
