Meaning they're unable to manage daily living and employment tasks that require reading skills beyond a basic level

I'm not an Alabamaian. I just live here for the money. I think of myself more as a mercenary than a resident.

Wonder if this has something to do with a segment of Americans we like to ignore.

So pretty much the same as Louisiana.

I'm sure Louisiana is not too far off.

So many damn descriptions could have followed "functionally" to describe the people of that state.

You don't have to read to watch or play football.

It seriously blows my mind that there are people in this country that can't read. Like how the frick do they manage daily life?

We give kids free schools, yet this seems way too common.

Fans sending Twitter messages to recruits in an attempt to try to convince them to play for their school is generally frowned upon, but sometimes they’re too humorous to ignore. And while you may get a chuckle out of this LSU fan who wrote to Alabama commitment Christopher Allen, you also should give him some credit for his passion.
In a note attached to a Tweet that has since been deleted, Twitter user Rob Boudreaux brought everything he had in hopes of convincing the 4-star Baton Rouge native to stay home and play for his Tigers. He broke out the state pride card, the “you’ll be forgotten” at Alabama card and the “I see you as a leader” (but only if you pick my school) card. Mixed in with some unfortunate grammatical mistakes and this note really checks all the boxes.
Here’s how the letter read:
“Chris,
As a lsu fan I just wanted to say I heard u today on the radio today and was I very impressed with you. I know you have a very difficult decision to make you may have already made it but on be have of tiger fans I would like to make a one last push to get you to get u 2 stay at a in your home state where you belong. I get that bama is great and Saban is great but if you look at some of Alabama great teams and players it’s not because they home grown bama men some of their biggest players home grown Louisiana men they came over here and plucked out of our state. I will respect whatever decision u make but I just wanted u to we want u here because I don’t see you as a follower and just another number at bama where u will be forgotten. I see you as a leader and someone who will turn the tide by changing things and becoming a great Tiger”
