They were thrown out like rag dolls.

Two University of Florida students are lucky to be alive after being ejected from their bass boat during an FLW College Fishing tournament on Lake Seminole this weekend. A GoPro camera mounted on the boat's aft-side leaning post captured video of the accident and aftermath. Hunter Bland and Conner Young were cruising at 60 m.p.h., heading to their first stop soon after blast-off, when a locknut came loose on the boat's hydraulic steering, rendering the steering wheel useless and kicking the outboard to one side. Both anglers were thrown violently into the water over the port gunwale.

Meh. They landed straight in the water and weren't even hurt.
LOL though at the other boats hauling arse past them and offering up no help, just a wake.
ETA: I stand corrected. Just saw them getting back on the boat and didn't realize one was knocked unconscious. Seeing the slo mo at the end of the video the dude on the right did hit the side of the boat pretty hard. Glad they're both okay.

doesn't aTm actually make claims to fishing titles?
it's almsot as bad as Okie Light and all of their calf roping, steer wrasslin, and rodeo national titles they boast.

I had a buddy in high school that spent a year in a back brace from a similar accident he flew out and actual hit the front of the boat as it spun. knocked him out cold when he hit his back luckily he was wearing a life jacket.
They said had it been his head...well you know.
These guys are crazy lucky!

Same exact thing happened to myself and some cousins during a duck hunting trip years ago. We somehow weren't thrown from the boat but we went straight into the bank into some trees. Boating safety is important.

Yeah, well I fish tournaments, and I would have stopped seeing people in the water like that. I guess many on here would have done it differently, and that's fricking unconscionable.

It should start with the noob not knowing how to drive a boat.
