Youre post lost all credibility at this point. None of these cops knew the race of the caller

Bull shite -- she was right in the same damn parking lot. Did you not listen to the entire audio?

Anybody discussed why this guy had his own dash cam? That seems peculiar.

You're really fricking stupid.

There is nothing peculiar about that. Tons of people drive with dashcams.

I have one in my truck. Wife has one in the minivan. This day and age, it's much more sensible to have it.

So if you don't get on the ground within 5 seconds you are resisting arrest?

If you get out of the car unprovoked with something in your hand all traffic stop norms go out the window.

And uh, yeah, if you're told (shouted at, actually) to get on the ground you get on the fricking ground. And I never said "resisting arrest", I said resisted getting on the ground. Which he by very definition was doing.

She was, and even followed the guy giving the officers the location. Im not sure if you know how it works but police officers don't have access to her on the phone. Just relayed info from dispatchers. I never hear her say her race but maybe I missed that part

I did hear the driver of the car while I assume on the phone, make a comment about how someone was looking at him strange while he was working on whatever it was with his car. He then made the comment about people assuming he is up to no good because he is black. To me that is just absurd. If it were a while guy wearing a dark hoodie and appeared to be using some type of bar to gain entry into a vehicle im sure it would have looked just as suspicious.

Is that really how it played out though? Not the cell phone in the hand part, the resisting part. I can't watch the video right now. I tend to not necessarily trust cops when they throw around words like "resisting." It's just one of their buzzwords that they throw around and put in reports because they know that it means justification to get dirty. Which unfortunately makes me suspicious because it does really happen sometimes.

"resisting" in this case is a stretch to most but there are different levels of resisting. To make it more understandable, he was non compliant. When multiple officers came towards him, he just stood there and when they grabbed him he struggled to stay on his feet and not go to the ground.

I'm assuming you're talking about the cops and the city of Evanston and the prize is the millions they're about to have to rightly pay out?

Because the dude fully cooperated, it was his own car.

That has nothing to do with race.

Possibly, but it sure as hell has to do with Cops viewing civilians as second class citizens- they work for us, not the other way around.

Would you be cool with a police officer referring to black people as ****s

No I don't think police should use it but there is only one ethnic slur that is taboo and black people use it in their everyday language. As for all the other ethnic slurs none of them are viewed in the same manner...and are basically allowed. Does dago set people off?

If you're expecting someone to ask you for some paperwork and instead the run up screaming "Get on the ground" at you, do you think you might be confused enough to stand there for a few seconds?

I don't disagree in general, but if it's raining and I'm ordered to the ground and in my suit I'm going to ask for another position.

These cops were out of line.
