Your family came to visit?
I told my parents to get the frick out and didn't go home till Thanksgiving my first semester. I went home at Thanksgiving for a day, Christmas for a week, and Mardi Gras for a week, other than that I enjoyed the frick out of college life. It's the only time you can be completely free of responsibility and experiment with all kinds of shite. Take full advantage.

When I went to LSU I lived 900 Miles from home. If I was lucky I saw my parents twice a year. Find a nice girl to make you happy and take your mind off things, if that's what you're into.
Looking back, I should have studied more but I went out like 4x a week. In the end it worked out for me, somehow

It gets better. Just push through it and don't let all the jack asses on this site bother you. It is hard to leave and change everything that you have ever known, but it really does get better with time. My mother told me when I left that the road runs both ways......you don't have to be stuck where you are if its not right.

Not unusual, but like the rest said enjoy college while you can. Go to baseball games, etc. I always felt like the spring semester went by quicker.

Hey y'all. Did anybody who went to college feel like the time after winter break caused more homesickness than the time after summer break. After summer vacation, everything feels new again, the campus is lively, and I am ready to start classes again after a long time off from school.
But, I just got back to campus for second semester, and it is cold, it got dark really early, campus is quiet, my break was pretty short, and I'm not happy with my living arrangements this year, so it kind of makes me sad that I won't be in my bed any longer. Also, I won't be seeing my family for almost two months, whereas during first semester my family came to visit around three weeks after arriving.
Has this type of situation occurred with anyone else? I think a large part of this is that I am not happy with where I am living, but I also am having a hard time currently with readjusting to college for second semester, and it feels like I am more homesick now than I have been following summer vacation.
100% trolling here.

It's never easy to leave home, but (assuming you're a freshman) it gets much easier as the years go on. I'm as homebody as they get, but there is nothing better than the college experience. Just push through it. Everyone will be back within a week.

Honestly, everyone feels that way. I have been out of school a hell of a long time and when the holidays are done and it is time for me to leave my hometown to head back to work, I still feel a little nostalgic for the old days. School, work, etc. all suck in my opinion...but you have to do them to be successful in life, so push through the week and you'll feel better after you get back into the swing of things.

That's the truth. Coming from a big city (Miami) to BR was weird for me at first but frankly, I prefer BR.
