Hopefully USC destroys Penn St so that the committee doesn't feel like they need to weigh conference championships more. It should be the four best teams. It should be the BCS formula with the top 4.

Agreed but Ohio state wasn't one of the 4 best teams.

no way OSU should have been there over PSU when PSU wins the conference.
Criteria for determining conference champ is limited, counting only conference games. Criteria for national champ/playoff includes the full picture - all games. All games count, and Penn St lost two.

Well they only had one loss, humiliated Oklahoma in Norman and beat Michigan.
Penn state had 2 losses, one of which was by 40 points.
Ohio st was the 4th best team in the regular season.

So let's say we have a 3 or 4 loss conference champion one year because that division sucks and the winner of the other division lays an egg in the championship game.
"I hate not having champions"
You'll change your tune quickly.
This definitely happens more often than B1G teams getting shut out in the playoffs.

Michigan got exposed
Yeah, losing to the #11 team in the country by 1 point is getting exposed.
Some are so full of hyperbole.

I don't think this has ever really mattered to the decision makers. They primarily vote on brand.

Who getting in over them? The B1G was overrated this year. Michigan got exposed, and now OSU is as well. PSU is no worldbeater themself.
It's hard to disagree with this. The ACC is easily the best football conference this year

You're delusional.
I know that you love your team, but...

I thought OSU repped the Big10 well.
At least they didn't get shut out.

Penn State shouldn't have lost by 39 or to an unranked Pitt team if they wanted to be in

The only other option is Oklahoma, whose resume is even worse than Penn State's.
OSU was the right decision. The wrong decision was going to 4 teams instead of 2.

But head to head doesn't count?? That's ridiculous

So if VT had upset clemson in the ACCG they deserve a shot at the national title?
Autobids for champs is retarded.

Michigan did not at any point look like they were the better team over Florida State but instead of what Ohio State did, they took Florida State's punch and really grinded it out, making it tough for Florida State to win.
Ohio State just pussed out after the punch they got.
I have no issues with 1 loss teams that somehow didn't make it to their conference title game making it into the playoffs with a good resume...if it's concrete for the schools that don't have a legacy, like Ohio State. I'm not sure it would be.
Even the old rules would have had Ohio State #2 and in the national title game (in the BCS). What really needed to happen was for Michigan to beat them and keep them from even having a chance.

Dumb uninformed post. Ohio State's record and schedule got them in, and they were in the top four by virtually every comprehensive measure. No one with a tougher schedule than Ohio State was left out, and the only team with a better record who was left out was Western Michigan.
