North Carolina legislators failed to repeal the state's "bathroom bill" on Wednesday during a special session called for that purpose. People in the gallery chanted "shame" as the gavel came down about 7:30 p.m. and lawmakers headed home. They'll meet again January 11 for a regular session of the General Assembly, at which time they might discuss repeal again.

Dems refused to allow it to pass. They need this for political capital. Simple as that. They hope the common person won't look at why it didn't pass.

Actually, the republicans hold a super majority in North Carolina and could have passed whatever they wanted. If there is any negative fall out, it is solely due to republican action. Sorry if that upsets anyone, but it is objectively true.

Dems could have joined the moderates to repeal it. But hey, better to have an unimportant issue to keep minorities offended.

Why did NC throw McCrory out and elect a supermajority R legislature? Kind of seems self-defeating to do those two things at the same time.

The fact this is even an issue should be embarrassing to both sides.

People are hungry, homeless, uneducated, etc., and we're spending time about shitters.

It's stupid the liberals champion this cause, but it's embarrassing all around this is even discussed before more paramount issues.

The bathroom bill has cost the state millions of dollars and the issue is a major reason why the Democrats regained the governorship in NC. It's a big deal economically and politically.

But the bigger story should be NC Republicans trying to neuter the power of the Governor now that they lost it.

I wish I had a time machine so I could bring some of the revolutionary patriots to the future to see how things ended up.

These people need a real cause.

Sae recently that my home state of North Carolina is the second best state for business growth behind Colorado.

Could've been fake news, so not sure if true. Don't feel like googling it.

NC has done very well in recent years. The few to several boycotts won't ruin that, I don't think.

I think someone missed the most recent ACC championship game. Moved to Orlando so that the queens could use either bathroom. The stands were littered with empty seats.

The loss in revenue is to the idiot organizations that are racking up expenses in moving their products. And losing revenue by those choosing not to drive the added distance

Well yeah, you'd then have to have bathrooms for big foot too.

You think those seats would be empty if the ACC championship was held in Charlotte, as planned? That's a lot of money because the State had to override the City.

According to Forbes the bathroom bill has cost NC over 600 million:
