People with CC Permits who don't carry

Just curious to know why you don't carry after going through the hassle of becoming certified.
My greatest fear would be that I would find myself in a situation where I needed my weapon and did not have it, rendering me helpless. I would never forgive myself.
What ya got?

this probably happens most often with people that can't or don't carry at work. If you don't carry to and from work there's not many other situations when you would carry.
Some people may just want to avoid the background check when buying a gun as well.

Traveling with a gun in the car was my primary motivation.

Sometimes has to do with everyday commute.....ie jobs that dictate military bases, schools etc....

I work in a refinery, so can't have pistol on company property. At night, I go to too many bars. The only time I carry is when I'm running errands during the day and when I go to the camp.

When I'm not working, I'm drinking.
When I'm not doing either, I'll carry

Different folks have different reasons. But from what I see in my classes, there are very few people who carry EDNDO (every day, no day off).
I'd estimate that the % of permit holders who carry "all the time" (everywhere that's not prohibited) is well under 5% --> probably close to 1-2%.

I don't carry often but when I do I like to know I'm legal.

I work at a bank that doesn't allow carrying, and I drink a bit when I'm off.
I let mine expire and did not renew, but keep a loaded revolver ready in the truck and house.

You can only forgive yourself if you are alive, so you really didn't need it anyway.

I rarely carry. I can't carry at work (I work on Redstone Arsenal). But I have the option any time I feel the need outside of work. I usually take my gun on camping trips or other places I feel I might run into meth heads or cannibals. But, generally, I'm far more worried about some dumbass crossing into my lane while texting on their phone and driving.

I'm in the carry but don't have a permit crowd. Seldom am I unarmed although I don't carry in bars. Ive never caught shite from a cop for having a gun in my vehicle. Never volunteered that I had one and never gave them a reason to snoop around. Guess I'm lucky.
Quick story:
My dad keeps a .38 with him at all times. Pulls in the driveway a few weeks ago around 9pm. Gets out of his truck to unlock the gate at the end of his driveway. Leaves his gun in the truck cause it's the house, right, and he's never had an issue in 52 years of living there. As he is unlocking the gate a complete stranger- drifter, homeless, thief, whatever- emerges from the darkness right in front of him. Dude is nervous as hell and tries to explain himself. My dad is caught completely off guard, a few words are exchanged and the stranger hauls arse down the road. My dad abut shits himself because he realizes he left the gun in the truck and was completely vulnerable in his rural road with no help.
TLDR:
Moral of all that:
Familiarity breeds contempt, you never know when you're gonna be vulnerable and need your weapon, always carry your sidearm

I've had mine eight years now and rarely carry
I just can't get comfortable with it, I'm one of those people that can't stand even having things in my pockets or a big wallet
I've got a drawer full of holsters and have tried every carry position but it just doesn't work for me. I may try an ankle holster next, i realize that's not ideal but surely it's better than nothing. open carry at the camp and whatnot is fine but I can't stand IWB and that's what I would have to do to carry every day

Can't carry at work.
If I'm not already drinking, there's usually a good chance that wherever I go, I will end up drinking.
Ik I should carry more often when running errands, but I have my CC gun in my truck at all times. I don't feel comfortable driving without it anymore, too many crazies out on the road.
