compared to other in-state schools?

White, rich jewish folk. Bourbon street tourism trash. Overall 7/10. Getting to live in New Orleans is the major key.

It's a cool place to visit, at least it was 10 years ago when I was at LSU.

It's a great bar-hopping scene if you've got the money. Not a huge house party scene because the bars are so great. Tons of rich northeast kids and Jewish girls if that's what you're into. Not as cliquey as LSU. It's in a class all by itself.

If you have to ask, you can't afford it.

It's a "happy holidays" school for sure.

My friend who graduated from Tulane says that nine out of ten girls are good looking and the tenth one goes to Tulane.
Plan on getting plenty use of your beer goggles.

Unless you really want to go to Tulane (which is fine, especially if there is an athletic team that you would be a part of or there is a very specific program that is very good at Tulane), then you could live in NOLA after school. Don't go to a college for a city.

All of tulane's stereotypes are true (aka full of NY jews). that being said, there are also kids from all other parts of the country who go to the school. I consider this Tulane's greatest strength. I went from high school, where the only people I knew who weren't from Louisiana were a couple Texans, to college and met lifelong friends from all over: Miami, Santa Cruz, Philly, Wisconsin, New Mexico New Hampshire, Connecticut. Another thing that's immediately apparent is that the kids who go to school here love it deeply. They study their asses off and reward themselves by partying just as hard. It's a pretty unique and special place in my always completely unbiased opinion.
Obviously don't go here if you're looking for a great athletic program.

The only determining factor is disposable income. Can you afford cheap beer or nice beer? Can you afford wells or nice liquor? Weed or coke?
