Dear Tiger Fans,

Skip Bertman's raison d'être as AD was to usher in tradition fees and make across the board ticket price increases palatable. The powers that be needed a bulletproof messenger for such a drastic new message. Other than giving himself a bullshite deal so he could hire his buddy Smoke, he wasn't really all that hands on with our athletic department.

Nick Saban is the best thing to happen to LSU. He instilled a winning mentality that was largely absent. LSU should have made him an offer that he couldn't refuse.

He let the best coach in the history of college football walk...

Yeah he was real great as an AD.

Wait, you know he, in a fit of "how dare you", passed on waiting a day for Jack Del Rio and rushed to hire a boob?

Seems very similar to "how dare you want to hear out Texas", I'm hiring a boob in 15 minutes, set the presser for noon.

Miles = yes, Skip gets the credit
Saban = Nope, Mark Emmert hired Saban

Skip as an AD was a disaster......he ran off Saban, Pokey, Pat Henry (the most successful coach in all of college sports). Skip was jealous of Pat Henry the entire time he was coaching baseball (I'm not saying Skip had a reason to be jealous. Skip was an amazing baseball coach). Pat Henry was getting upgrades to Bernie Moore stadium while Skip was slugging it out (literally) at old Alex Box. Also, Skip disliked "a little" attention being diverted from him toward Pat Henry's success. Sorrry to tell the truth to all of you Skip = Jesus folks....but sometimes the truth hurts.

-letting pat henry walk
-hiring les
-hiring smoke
-shitty facility projects (Holy hell, Alex Box and the West expansion were atrocities.)
-hiring Van Chancellor, effectively taking our wbb program "out back"

he did hire Chuck Weinsted and made LSU a fundraising machine. Oh man, he exemplified the glory days baws!!

By far. We should've let him pick his successor.

He destroyed his legacy the instant he hired Les Miles.
