Never have I been happier to live in a van down by the river. I don't even know what most of these items mentioned are.
Tray ceilings?
Oil rubbed fixtures?

I cannot cope with this.

There isn't a replacement for oil rubbed bronze right now. It's what is trendy but I still think something basic like silver (not that brushed crap) can be timeless when used correctly.

This is too classic to go out of style IMO.

Everything that is trendy will look dated.

Classic looks never go out of style.

The mass produced building material replacement for oil rubbed bronze right now is brushed nickel or stainless, or even chrome.

Believe it or not brass is actually marking a comeback in the higher end markets, although it's not your parents brass.

So let's look at what's classic style then... someone hit on classic wainscoting. That is for sure on this list.

What other items fit that bill? What floors, countertops, backsplashes, ceilings, door hardware, etc won't go out of style.

I think anything done with true to period architectural detailing will always be timeless. The problem is getting these details right is usually limited to the higher end homes. Important to some, but not all.

I actually dig it. Probably going to be trendy though.

Once it leaves the high end market and becomes commoditized, its usually a candidate for that. I think that's just the way these things go.

Once again though, if the rest of the house fit the style you'll generally be ok. It's more about style and less about a trend that way.

Property Brother's style is so awful. I cringe at everything they do.

Yeah but if you take all of the stuff out of that room, what are you left with? Some sort of coffered ceilings, the mantle is pretty 2000's. Can't tell much about the floors.

ETA: yes, the stuff in that room looks like shite!

Brass is awful. It leaves a funky smell on your hands.
