GF never cooks. So I wouldn't know.
Mom is a great cook but is on the gluten-free craze and spaghetti squash so ewww
Grandma grew up in redneck country so the best she can do is potato salad and canned salmon patties.

Myself and SO are both pretty good.

My mom cooked, but she wasn't very good at it. Not really bad just super healthy and basic (chicken breast and steamed broccoli).

My grandmother could not cook if her life depended on it but goddamn her "help" sure could.

My grandmother was the GOAT. I don't think I remember her much outside of the kitchen.

She cooked the shite out of seafood gumbo, crawfish bisque with the stuffed crawfish heads, etouffe, garlic and red pepper pork roast, fork-tender brisquet, stuffed artichokes, huckleberry jam, strawberry and fig preserves, mayhaw jelly, muscadine jelly, hot pepper vineager for the red beans, hot pepper jelly on fried pork chops or cream cheese, bread and butter pickles, hot ansd spicy pickles, etc.

I'm salivating.

My SO can cook pretty damn good with a recipe. I just look at what's on hand and 8 out of 10 times, create some damn fine improvisional dishes.

I do have to give props to glass for clearing up my issues with making first class pub fries & proper baked potatoes.

Also Pilot lined me out on getting those huge Costco steaks, perfect.

Thanks. I have a few of her recipes that I try from time to time. They aren't hard per se, it's just finding the time.

Both of my grandmothers were legit as frick at their own things. But my mom was taught well by both of them and could whip up both of their dishes damn good. Couple things my mom even made the dish better which was damn near impossible.

My mom fed the frick out of us boys. I miss her so damn much and her cooking is one of the biggest things.

She was a stay at home mom and sometimes would whip up three entire meals throughout the day,

My paternal grandmother made a mean arse meat balls and pasta with red sauce. But her gumbo might have been th greatest gumbo of all times. My cousin who was a well trained exec chef up at country club in Memphis got her recipe and has got it down pact! During holiday get togethers he whips it up and I swear my grandma's gumbo with my mom's potato salad is still be best meal I've ever put in my mouth.

Wife. She can cook anything from French to Ethiopian to Chinese to Indian. Her best dishes are French and Indian though.

My mom couldn't boil water without burning it and my grandmother made nothing but casseroles.

Preach, brother.

Nothing like having a mother who is a mom to all the local boys.

"Mama Carol, can you make me a sandwich?"
"Sure, honey, whatever you want. Just don't drink too much beer before you leave."

Grandma was a professional cook. Not even close

My mom once made crispy black eyed peas.

My fiancee couldn't cook for taco bell. Though she makes this white trasg concoction if tuna rice mustard and some other shite that is delicious. Has a tang to int.

My grandma makes this dressing that is stuffed with chicken that is the best thing ever. Makes the best sweet potato pie too

No one can touch ole mawmaw but the shite aint exactly healthy. I would be 300lbs if I ate that every day.

Mom and the SO are both great cooks but they approach it from a health conscious perspective so it will never be as "good". Can't compete with butter in errrthhing . I'm not complaining though..my idea as fine cuisine as a single man was hamburger helper.

Awesome. Mine had cooking as her hobby and was classically French trained. She taught me how to cook.

My grandmother was poor as hell and raised her 6 boys on crap, basically - whatever was left over from a slaughter. I did learn to cook her mustard greens. Thanks to her I can cook the hell out of a mess of mustard greens. My turnip greens are okay; but for some reason, I kill the mustards.
My maid growing up was from south Louisiana and I learned to make a decent gumbo and jambalaya.
Thanks to those three dishes, I have passed myself off as a fantastic cook. Go figure.
I don't think my mother in law cooks at all, so my husband thinks I am a kitchen goddess LOL. Dang, I love a bar set low!!
