My Grandmother was an amazing cook. The family was originally from the Appalachian mountains area of Western Maryland. The food was all locally farm raised and organic. She would get a lot of her cheeses and sausages from the Mennonite farms. The food was incredible.
I miss those days.

My grandma was the best, my dad is a better cook than my mom, and my SO has a culinary degree, but I think I cook better.

I only knew one grandparent growing up, my maternal grandmother, and she wasn't a cook.
My mom is a pretty good cook.
Her empanadas? I can guarantee you that you won't find better anywhere.

Grandmaw and its not even close.
She cooked 3 meals a day from the time she was married in 1948 until she could no longer due to medical probelms.
On a side note: My grandpaw would not sit down at the table unless there some type of variation of meat and potatoes with a bread (most likely cornbread). It ain't a meal without meat and taters. (Lived on a farm and had almost an unlimited amount of potatoes)

I can confirm your mom is a great cook, especially after I give her the main course.

Grandma's cooking sucks, IMO. But she makes a lot of soul food that I flat out refuse to consume.
Mom's cooking is damn good.
My culinary skills are on point, but my wife's are better. Didn't used to be that way, but she's stepped her kitchen game WAY up since we've been married.
Aggiebelle>>>>>the rest of this group, IMO.

My stepdad's mom was a great cook.
My poor mom was not a good cook with a couple of exceptions: her lasagna and her Swiss steak.
I'm a good cook and my sister is a good baker. I always get asked to make gumbo or jambalaya and my sister is famous for her red velvet.

The way to keep a man happy is by filling his stomach and draining his balls.

Depends on what. My mom has a few dishes she makes better than me. Crawfish etoufee and gumbo... but anything on the grill, I would give anybody a run for their money!
Eta: my wife doesnt even make good sandwiches
