They'd definitely have to shut down the clinic at strategic times. I think a lot of LSU fans would get curious about trying it after a loss.

This made me laugh. I just pictured someone giving heroin tourists the safety speech before trying it, kinda like a skydiving instructor.
I mean, it sounds flip, but I think it's the huge dilemma of the "we need to just legalize everything" crowd. I think the underground/criminal nature of things like heroin probably dissuades a lot more people than many want to admit. I was young and really stupid once too. If there was an easily accessible (with no possible legal ramifications) heroin distributor around when I was such, I can't say for sure I wouldn't have tried it out.

Requiem for a Dream should be required viewing for all 13-year olds. If that doesn't deter them from using heroin, nothing will.

Yeah. Legalizing everything is too simplistic of an answer and doesn't address the simple fact that NO consequences means there is no deterrent except for social stigma. And that's a stigma that would eventually wash away if we stayed on the legalization bus.

Really? I was young and stupid too but that doesn't mean I didn't understand how dangerous heroin, meth and crack were. Weed, coke, X, etc sure, but you pretty much know not to frick with heroin.

It does sound silly but I think they've tried it with some success in places. The idea is that if junkies can get clean doses administered by medical professionals then they don't have to focus all of their energy and thought on getting their next dose. They can reflect and improve themselves and want to get off the shite, instead of just thinking about the dope.
Something like that. I don't know if it would work here, but I do know that throwing junkies in jail costs more with less efficacy.

30 freaking pills. For 2-3 days of pain. I thought it was a mistake when I picked the prescription up, but apparently that's the norm.
It differs with each doctor. My wife went through a minor surgery and she only got 15 Hydrocodone 7.5's and I was surprised she didn't get more

LOL I swore when I watched that I would never do it. Boy was i wrong.

That is not normal. That is insane.
Perhaps I shouldn't have said "the norm," but it's definitely common.
New studies are showing that over-prescribing isn't limited to a few bad apple doctors like most previously thought, rather it is becoming increasingly common among physicians.
Better in-person education on the potential for abuse by physicians, along with increased access to pill disposal centers, would be good first step in battling this crisis.

You would have to susbscribe to the other dude's theory that addiction means you are a degenerate

Ok so you accept that degeracy is caused by addiction. Now we have to accept that death is the acceptable answer to degeneracy.
Do you agree with that?
Posted on 12/9/16 at 3:16 pm to GreatLakesTiger24
You don't celebrate their deaths no matter if they were degenerates or not. I have news for you , many people that have died from drug overdoses were just regular good folks. Not everyone that is caught up in addiction is a degenerate.

In b4 "dear diary", but one time I made a comment on Facebook dogging out heroin addicts and pillheads, asking how they could jeopardize their lives and how they stupid they were, etc. I got 2 messages from people who explained to me their stories. It's incredible how much of an epidemic this really is. It's so much bigger than a lot of people know. Literally functional people.. People you'd never expect.

The one and only post I've read of yours makes me think otherwise. And I don't even know you.

You are pretty high strung about how hilarious it is that the Philippines is becoming a better country with this policy. Are you a drug dealer or abuse drugs? That's your choice and it's ok man, you can go get help for addictions if you need to.

It's crazy how it has taken off...
It's sad that a lot of these people aren't getting a heroin high anyway, they are just getting rediculously loaded. I've come to
The conclusion that a vast number of the younger (newer) heroin usezers that may have just started in the last few years of this uptick don't even know what a real or "good" heroin high even feels like since the vast majority of it is cut with fentynl(sp?) or even worse is some synthetic white powders people are getting from china. Some call it 'pink' and other stupid arse names, but it doesn't discriminate and it kills everyone, and the high is eyphoric ar all like a real pure heroin high. It just gets people out of their box loaded, and majority of green users, think thaf when they are loaded out of their mind ducking out (almost ODing) that it means it's 'good shite'... not the case at all, --- and this all my friends is why there is such an uptick in deaths.... and I really not heroin doing the killing.
I really hate this for families. And I hate it for people in the throws of addictions and under the grip of heroin. It's brutal and no way to live.
Please get help people before you are a statistic.
It is possible. I'm an example 15 years ago I thought it wasn't possible I made it to 30 and statistics agreed three fold. I'm 34.
