Would you say Art is the second option behind Kiffin even with his baggage? Bringing Art in as OC, Kendall and then having Stidham follow them would be the ideal situation.

Correct
LA produces a lot Guards, DBs, RBs and WR.

That is why I keep telling people to be patient. Kiffin is the 1st domino. I believe we will know more once G5 HC spot fill up. I don't expect Kendal Briles nor Applewhite as OC. Just because O wants a Spread offense doesn't mean he wants a finesse offense. From what I have heard O will go in the Power Spread direction. He doesn't want to lose LSU's physical identity and Power Spread is best of both worlds. Another reason he wants to go away from Pro style is LA doesn't produce a lot of Pro style QBs and it fits what LA HS are mostly doing. It makes recruiting offense in LA much easier. There are not many Air Raid offenses in LA like in TX. Moving to a Power Spread IMO is a great move. OT & MO*****John Diarse would have been an incredible Power Spread QB at LSU. Nevilles offense was a thing of beauty with him a QB. La has more John Diarses than Shay Pattersons. This will help rebuild the LA fence
Awesome tigerbaitlawyer. I'm so happy someone put some to the philosophy out there. These people really believing there is no plan, O is just dumb, etc. gets old. If you read this, it makes perfect sense.

two questions
1) are you tigerlawyer that used to be on rivals tigerbait?
2) I know this is a coaching changes board, however, do you have any recruiting tid bits. how we looking advantageous or not on a few guys?

I was just wondering the same thing...

1) No
2) Not really. I understand Recruiting is the life blood but I dont get involved in day to day recruiting because these are high school kids and they want attention. I just critique classes 2 years after signing day.
I'm old fashion, I like seeing freshman red shirt. Most of the criticism of Moffitt is completely dumb. There is a big difference between a RS FR and T FR. Bama doesn't have many 3 and Gone. They produce system players better than anybody.
Saban has now convinced Players is it better to sit for 2 years at Bama than start right away at LSU. So they start as a RS So (a 3rd year player) against LSU's True Freshman and then for 3 years Bama has 5th Sr against True Juniors. They all go pro and the cycle restarts. Average Age of 5th Sr is 22/23 compared to a True Jr 20/21. Those 2 extra years in S&C programs make a big difference and their football maturity is better.
Everybody points to the loss in the BCSNC as LSU's down fall. 2011 was not suppose to be out year it was suppose to be 2012/13. 2011 was a heavy sophmore laden team. LSU has never fully recovered from those 2 classes all leaving early. Our depth has never been the same.
You don't beat Bama by starting mostly true freshman. Hopefully this class staying intact for one more year will rebuild our depth.

It's worth it if we have an o that is in the top three in the sec.

tbl my assumption based on what I'm hearing in media reports is that kiffin will likely not be at LSU. Do you believe there is a clear cut #2?
If you had to place a bet who would your money be on?

No you don't, that's why we have to up our "game" in recruiting these kids to come back for their senior year. You know what I'm talking about..Bama's players just don't come back out of the goodness of their own heart.
I'd rather hire Kendall Briles as OC as long as (and ONLY if) Art agrees to sign on LATER as a shadow staffer. Kiffin seems unlikely at this point, but Kendall will be fine as long as daddy comes and stays in the background.

the fact he hasn't been very good away from Saban,
WHatcha mean? He has developed elite QBs at ever single school in addition to scoring tons of points in balanced systems.

No, I believe the next 2 are pretty equal.

Hey bud. Thanks for the info you bring. Much appreciated.
You may have missed it on previous page. A poster asked about Matt Canada. I'm very intrigued by him. Have you not heard his name mentioned at all?

Personally I'm very skeptical of Helfrich. He is a coat tail guy.
Scott Frost would have been the Guy to get a few years ago.
I would take Gilbert over Kendal Briles. Gilbert did turn around Texas's offense in a year.
I believe if it is not Kiffin or Sark, it will be a Briles tree guy, not just because the offense but because of Texas recruiting. Our big Texas recruiter BDP was shown the door.

Stick to lawyering
OSU beat Bama with:
Soph QB - in his 1st start ever
Soph - Running back
rsFr - TE
rsFr, Soph, Jr, Sr - Wide receivers
Fr, Soph, 2x Jr, Sr - OLine
Fr, rsFr, 4x Soph, 2x Jr, 3x Sr - leading tacklers
If you notice that's 13 Fr, rsFr, or Soph. And only 10 Jr & Sr

you could probably call that an anomaly.

Well, since there is so little to compare to, it happens to be the gold standard in defeating Saban
