Our current immigration laws gives illegals a fighting chance......if they vet out OK they'll probably be let in, if not, bye-bye.

Why can't LG fall in a sink hole & disappear forever?

I'm not crazy about everything trump does but if a few republican senators flip to the Dems on immigration or one of trumps other key platform issues, their trip home for recess will be hell

frick Congress. All of them. NOW they want to work together? They all need to go. I think I'll make it a priority to vote against congressional incumbents from this point forward.

Graham is an effeminate piece of trash. I wish South Carolina would get rid of that son of a Babylonian Harlot. Don't worry, president Trump will put that punk in his place.

It is because they (dem. politicians and some rep politicians) do not want America to be great. They want the USA to be on par with central America. That way they can more easily control everything and stay in power. They don't care about the public and their actions which are always in line with destroying this country are evidence of this.

Trump will see that Flake is Primaried, if Flake causes trouble. Flake will get in line for that reason alone.

Originally I had thought that Trump had two years to complete his 'fundamental transformation'...but after having watched Trump's action and yesterday's speech...I'm thinking that he is going to maintain Congressional control in '18, but likely expand it. Guy is a boss! He'll take his Bully Pulpit and begin deporting Illegal FELONS like violent cartel members and put fear in those who oppose him...or rather 'the Rule of Law'. Like Graham or Flake.

The problem with this hypothetical is the Republican members of the House, whose skin is on the line far more often than the Senate. No chance in hell this ever gets out of the House.

They are going to be all on their own when the left side of the aisle realizes, as I have, that we now have a president who is more than willing to cut taxes and spend money like a drunken sailor and tell the rest of the world to kiss our arse! Seriously....Democrats will be at the head of the line to toss illegal immigrants out of the country if they are convinced that Trump is sincere in spending money like a madman and protecting American workers with tariffs.....you ain't never seen the bi-partisan shite that is going to happen over the next couple of years....the only people not on board are conservatives, thankfully very few of them left, and the ideologically pure democrat....the rest of the Trump opposition will soon realize that the public troffers are open and all you gotta do is reach in and get you a handful and they will do whatever Trump suggests!!! We are truly on the brink of being great again....and all it takes is a little dose of Keynes well applied!!!!

Trump doesn't need the conservatives...he had most of the left when he said "infrastructure stimulus"....he will have enough democrats willing to support any legislation he proposes so the spigot will stay turned on.....the man is truly a visionary.....

We are all thinking inside the pre election box.....we have been told for years that we must meet our obligations or the world will look down their noses at us....but what we forgot was that the rest of the world are like teenagers living in our basement...when they are told that their national security is their responsibility they will willingly accept any terms in exchange for some protection!!!!

Y'all are seriously discounting the effect that tax cuts and increased spending and worker protections will mean to the left....Trump won't need the never Trump conservatives.....

I listen to progressive radio on XM and those idiots completely dismiss this.....and y'all are doing the same thing....when democrats realize that is finally ok to openly vote for cash from the public coffers and we have a president who isn't afraid to do so they will be the biggest Trump supporters to ever shite between a pair of Brogans....

This is to give legal status for the DACA kids who were protected by Obama's Executive Order. Except this time, it would be a legal, Congressional approved protection for those brought here by others when they were children and who grew up here. For many, this is the only country they know.

You want these kids deported?

I thought that the reason you opposed DACA was because it was an Executive Order and was considered unconstitutional?

You want a kid who was brought here when they were 2 or 3 or 5 years old without even giving their consent and are now 18 or 20 to be deported and sent back to a country they have no memory of?????

What the hell is wrong with you people? I mean, seriously? There is a hatred here that is sick and twisted.

Bull crap. Know the law. If you ever came here illegally, you have no possible way to get legal. None. Not even if you were brought here at one year old, grew up here, didn't find out you were illegal until you were 16, have no memory of your country, and are now 20 years old. DACA was a "deferred action" that gave you a chance to legally go to school and work in 2 year increments. Trump promises to get rid of it. So, what will these kids do? They have no other recourse if Trump does what he says he will do. So, this bill will attempt to give them protection.

There is no "fighting chance." NONE.

if you dont understand the need to actually control the border in an age of rampant global terrorism or the economic damage and crime that illegal immigration causes, you are beyond help. Not to mention the big 'frick You' to legal immigrants who followed the law.

Did you even read the article? This is a protection for the DACA kids who were brought here without their consent and who grew up here - many have no country to go back to. They are now working and/or going to school.

This bill has nothing to do with "controlling the border." These people have been here and grew up here.

They should be all voted out of office. Why any rational constituent would support this bill is beyond comprehension. No, I don't blame the kids of illegal immigrants; I blame the parents who violated our immigration law by coming here illegally. Children are often victims of actions taken by parents. It's sad but it not justification for disregarding the rule of law; in fact it stands as testimony to the importance of being a law abiding citizen.

How would a bill passed by Congress disregard the rule of law? If a bill is passed making them legal, then the rule of law is not being disregarded. America has done things like this countless times. You are simply saying that these were kids and they did not actively break the law because they were below the age of consent when they were brought here. You are making allowances for them to apply, pay fees, and go through a process to live and work in the only country they have ever known.

The whole thing that people were upset with on DACA was that it was an Executive Order. Now, you're upset if Congress addresses it.

So, you want someone brought here at 2 or 3 years old who is now 20 to be deported back to Honduras? Because of the "rule of law"? And, no allowance can be made for their situation? Because of the "rule of law"? Even if Congress wants to address it and change the law - which happens every single day on thousands of other issues and everyone is totally fine with it?

What is wrong with you?

The beauty of the immigration issue is that it needs no new legislation.

All of the laws to handle the issue properly are already on the books.

So, up yours.
