There is nothing innately wrong with Islam.
It's innately a violent political movement, not a religion - that's what's fundamentally wrong with it.
Ponder this: The more radical a Buddhist becomes, the more pacifistic they get. The more radical a Muslim becomes, the more likely they are to blow up a shopping center.
See the problem?

And the Jews? Would you not consider radical application of the Torah rather extreme?
The point NC is making is that it's all about the application of said religion.

Are there ANY 21st century examples of Jews attempting "radical application of the Torah" to the point that it could potentially impact me and my daily existence? Link, if so?

Not that I'm aware. The application of their text in a literal fashion would surely justify it though.

Convert or die.
No, the Koran is specific. If you encounter an infidel he has the following options:
a. He can convert.
b. He can pay a tax allowing him to live.
c. You can make him a slave.
d. You can kill him.

1. Become obsessed with praying
2. Become a psychopathic lunatic because you pray too much and can't eat bacon.
3. Kill some people because they aren't obsessed with praying and love bacon.
4. Die while screaming something about a snack bar.

Sunni Muslims hate Shia Muslims
Sunni countries want regional power and Shia countries want regional power
They use their religion/terrorism to manipulate foreign countries into getting involved in the Middle East to destabilize their enemy's countries therefore giving them more power and control of their only big resource.
The End

OK, here is a thumbnail explanation of Islam. It requires an understanding of value systems.
Western Culture is based on a value system of freedom. That's why the Magna Carta was written. That's why the colonies revolted against the crown. The big advantage of this system is that it is the natural condition of humans.
Humans by nature like freedom. That's why prison is unpleasant.
The value system of Communist countries is Egalitarianism. Humans left to their own nature are dramatically unequal. Therefore, equality can only be achieved through the coercive power of the state. Thus, you have Command Economies and massive redistribution of wealth and strict limits on private property (see land reform).
The value system of Islam is Virtue. A virtuous life pleases Allah and leads to paradise. The problem is that people are not naturally virtuous. If they have free will they will choose to do bad things. Therefore, they must be forced to be good (or they will be killed).
The flaw with this philosophy is obvious to anyone with a grain of logic. There is no such thing as virtue where free will does not exist. IE, if you give a poor person 10 bucks it demonstrates the virtue of charity. If I hold a gun to your head and say "Give the poor person 10 or I'll shoot you" and you comply then you have not performed a virtuous act at all.
The Muslim philosopher Qutb realized that western culture was natural and Islam was not. Therefore he insisted that western culture = a threat to the existence of Islam and must be destroyed (Jihad).

Which scriptures in the Quran are consistent with the New Testament teachings? (if any)
Virtually none.
Now the Old Testament is a different story. But most people who believe that the Old Testament is part of God's inspired word still don't believe in following it literally today. It's as if modern day fundamentalist Muslims are in a time warp and have the same mentality that Israelites had 5,000 years ago.

Your ignorance of the Bible, at least, begins ... at the very beginning. I'm sure it doesn't end there.
The Bible is packed with the conundrums and contradictions you deny. Starting with the book of Genesis. YOU ARE CLEARLY IGNORANT OF THE TWO CREATION STORIES IN THAT BOOK, AMONG THE MOST MONUMENTAL AND CONTROVERSIAL CONTRADICTIONS IN THE ENTIRE BIBLE.
Given your gross deficit of basic knowledge, I consider any further discussion with you on this matter to be an inexcusable waste of my time.
A parting and well-meant admonition:
Please educate yourself in these matters and refrain from injecting your factually incorrect, intellectually barren "views" into the discussion.

There are no deserts where the majority of Muslims reside.

So Jews COULD do it and Muslims ARE doing it, and that is equivalent in your eyes?

With all the Quran scholars around here, one would think these posts would be a lot more informative.
