Last week, UF fans were laughing at FSU saying that Jimbo was going to LSU.

Now, one of the leading rumors on the coaching carousel is the McElwain is going to Oregon.

And, Gators seems split right down the middle whether to cheer wildly or be upset.

So, who is Oregon gonna hire? I have demonstrated - very clearly - I have no inside information. Anybody here have any sources at Oregon or Florida?

With Spurrier on staff as a consultant/advisor I figure they will hire Dan Mullens.

If McElwain went to Oregon and it wasn't to the Beavers I'd be sorely disappointed.

I would be very surprised if they didn't make a strong run a Lane.

I think there's another HC in the SEC that's more deserving of that gig.

I would think they would remember that Lane went 4-7 in his last 11 games at USC before being fired on the tarmac.

"During the 2012 season, Kiffin became the first coach since 1964 to take the pre-season #1 ranked team to unranked by the end of the season."

"The Trojans lost their first two conference games of the 2013 season against Washington State and Arizona State, making Kiffin's record 4-7 in his last eleven games. On September 28, 2013, after the 62 to 41 loss to Arizona State, USC Athletics Director Pat Haden fired Kiffin hours after the game, when the team arrived back in Los Angeles at 3 a.m."

That ranking was so stupid. They were still dealing with ncaa scolly limits

Pete Carroll left in 2009. I don't know how long the sanctions lasted.

In 2011 USC went 10-2 with 1 of the losses being to #6 Stanford in 3 overtimes. Maybe they shouldn't have been #1 overall but they still wound up out of the polls by the end of the year.

It was 30 ships over 3 years. I can't remember if it started with the '10 or '11 class. He dealt with depth issues the whole time.

If I was a Florida fan, I'd be ecstatic if he left. McElwain is a mediocre coach and has benefited from a very bad division and defensive recruits from another coach.

With their resources and his recruiting capabilities I would see if Kiffin has matured enough.
