Except for Christmas eve. On Christmas eve the black sheep all go out to the shop to be Santa's little helpers and build: bikes, swings, electric cars, scooters, program ipads and phones, etc. etc. The alcohol is a vital tool in the assembly process. Santa might run on cookies and milk, but our clan runs on Buffalo Trace and mulligan stew.

Family get togethers are always split into two groups, drinkers on one side and non on the other. Non drinking side was always miserable and had the screaming kids running around. The drinkers? Cooking and cutting up.

The only way all of my family can be together is full of wine. Otherwise we can't stand being together.
It's the family glue.

We are from one extreme to the other. My family drinks all day and night..a lot...
my wife's family wont have a drop of alcohol within 5 miles of the house. I usually head to the camp after my my families lunch and the wife and kids will go to her moms for the night......

So I'm going to my parents house tomorrow with my super religious old school grandparents and there will be no alcohol whatsoever.... anyone else in the same boat ??
What would happen if you brought a bottle of wine and drank anyway? They kick you out? Wife disowns you?

"Uncle B says I can't drink wine at family get togethers anymore.... So I bought vodka"

Flask - conceal and carry

This just blows my mind. It's not disrespectful to bring a craft beer for dinner, and as long as you don't waive it in everyone's face like an idiot why would they care?
