I was only 2 and a half so probably playing on Anderson Street, didn't get out much.

I do vaguely remember the TV coverage but didn't know what was going on.

I was on a temporary assignment in Brookline, Massachusetts, staying at the Brookline Motor Inn on Beacon Street very near Kennedy's childhood home. I'll never forget that day.

7th grade at Glasgow Jr. High. Pat Gouchie ran up to me at recess and told me Kennedy had been shot. I didn't believe him. Then while in class it was announced that the president had passed. A bunch of kids cheered. Teachers were pissed. It was a very sad weekend.

7th grade at martin jr high school. walking up the stairs to english class when it was announced on the intercom.

lots of cheering and the teachers were PO'd
about it. kennedy was not liked in the south land.
