Pence and Kaine - How big of a deal were the VP choices??

IMO the VP debate was a huge turning point for DJT snd HRC. The nation was introduced to a calm, cool, professional, like able Mike Pence and a whiny, yappy, unlikeable Tim Kaine.
Pence complimented DJT perfectly and Kaine was clearly a poor match with HRC.

Hard to say given the influence of the primary candidates but I tend to agree overall. I think the HC camp just wanted Kaine kept hidden for the most part because he's so awful. Just my subjective observation though.

People don't vote for someone because of their vice president, people vote for top of ticket

Kaine was nothing but weaksauce

He accomplished his purpose. They won Va.
Yay!
Now go back to the bench.

As a very devout, conservative, evangelical Christian, Pence definitely helped. But the attacks against the Trump rally in San Jose is what really pushed me into his camp. Until then I was going to sit at home and not vote.

They CAN be used effectively as the face of international politics, but who knows

MAGA could've put Palin on train and he would've won. That's no knock against Pence because he is truly an a asset.

I think the choice of Pence made some evangelicals think twice about NOT voting for Trump. I know for a fact that friends of ours fall into that category. While I'm not an evangelical, I am very comfortable with having Pence as #2. He is poised, experienced, calm, and overall very likeable and reliable. Unless you're a demented feminist or some other such extremist.

Hillary and Co had to have Virginia. They got it. They also thought Kaine would appeal to white males somehow. They miscalculated. I don't know anyone around here who can state anything that Kaine has accomplished and he was mayor of Richmond or Governor of VA. I do remember him being pro-business, but other than that milktoast...

I didn't know much about either before being named VP. My first impressions still apply:
Pence... impressive
Kaine ... creepy

Pence reeled in all of the true GOP voters. Kaine was called a pussy by his wife

Pence demonstrated Trump wasn't just giving lip service to conservative values, so I think he was a huge asset for Trump.
Kaine was a Clinton brown noser...she liked him more than other people did.

Kaine was the most obvious example of someone completely lacking good judgement. Honestly that was a horrible pick.

I think if Hillary would have chosen an African American or Latino VP, it might have swung a few states?
