As an independent, I just don't get it. Sure, we all get upset when our side doesn't win. But I know generally intelligent people posting on Facebook, Instagram, Etc. that they are "scared" for the future of their children. That "As a woman they are sad and worried for their future rights," etc. Why is everyone writing a stupid message to their children today (I'm looking at you John Stewart).

Is the media THAT strong to cut through who I know to be good, honest, intelligent people and make them think that Trump is going to come in and start removing rights? That has to be the only answer.

And anyone who is "afraid for their children," $19 Trillion dollar debt we're sitting on handing to future generations to deal with? I do get the fear of the wall, but immigration law enforcement is an actual problem. We need to get a handle on that. Maybe the wall isn't the best idea, but can we give the guy a chance to try to figure this issue out since Progs have no interest in it?

Why do people allow critical thinking to go right out of the window? I can't ask them, but I want a list of what they think Trump is going to do that is so bad.

I really would love perspective from someone who is "afraid" left or not, what policies does Trump enact that will harm women, LGBTQ, etc.? What is he going to do that is so scary?

People in my office that have legitimate workings visas are afraid of being deported. Comparing DJT to Hitler. It's retarded. Ahhh, I can say that now.

People watch too much cable TV.

Trump is unpredictable and that's not really a quality I would prefer to have in my president but he's not going to start nuclear war with Russia.

Hell, he probably won't even significantly ramp up deportations or cut Obamacare, not until he has at least a stopgap measure.

They have been conditioned by their media and politicians to be fearful if they don't get their way. It's amazing how gullible and naive they can be and this goes for both sides.

A highly intelligent friend of mine has major concerns about Putin and Syria ties with trump. I don't know if he believes there are actual ties or if he is just concerned that Trump plans on appeasing them, which he feels would be disastrous.

This morning he sent me an article about putin congratulating Trump and the Duma applauding.

Trump's economic policy will run the deficit to unsustainable levels. It won't create jobs. Manufacturing jobs are not coming back to the USA. You have to look to the future and adapt to a world economy. Job growth will slow worse than it already is and another recession is on the horizon within 2 years.

Trump's lack of intelligence on all issues outside of trade is the biggest concern.

His inability to listen or execute the directions of his campaign staff lead me to believe he will do the same with his cabinet.

His win despite not listening to his campaign staff repeatedly will only embolden him to continue doing things his way despite his lack of knowledge.

The country is resilient and will survive, but things are probably going to be bad.

Afraid of what the media told them to be afraid of. And last night demonstrates how clueless the media is.

They just ate too many tendies over the past year and now there aren't any left.

People just react irrationally after elections. My left leaning friends are doing it now, my right leaning friends did it 4 and 8 years ago. America, she presses on.

the only negative I see about Trump is. He is a bully type and his brashness while funny and entertaining isn't a good role model for kids.

I hope as president he loses the need to want to go on twitter tirades and call out women for being fat or ugly or what have you.

That said, Hillary wasn't much better in that regard if you read the emails.

Trump is the guy who tells you like it is, Hillary is that girl who smiles in your face then trashes you behind your back.

People who are scared are showing ignorance. Nobody should make you scared. You might not agree with policy or morals but it shouldn't scare you. People over react and take media reports to the extreme.

I've got some gay friends who seem to believe he will chain them up and throw them away regardless of the fact that he has been the much more progressive candidate over his lifetime.. it's amazing how they have been conditioned with fear towards the Republican Party..
