You have to be full time unless you are graduating or already have a degree I believe

Yeah, maybe what I remembered was only needing to actually earn 6 hours.

Pretty sure athletes have certain amount of hours by calendar year. Not a specific semester. I tutored at the Cox building. I think many of them only had two or three classes to attend

The rest of that is interesting. I do know that an overwhelming majority of LSU athletes aren't taking less than 12 hours. The athletic advisors do a pretty good job of making sure our athletes are prepared to graduate in 4 years.

In Division I, student-athletes must complete 40 percent of the coursework required for a degree by the end of their second year. They must complete 60 percent by the end of their third year and 80 percent by the end of their fourth year. Student-athletes are allowed five years to graduate while receiving athletically related financial aid
OK, so this lists out the requirements of the number of hours an athlete must earn each calendar year.
quote:
All Division I student-athletes must earn at least six credit hours each term to be eligible for the following term and must meet minimum grade-point average requirements that are related to an institution’s own GPA standards for graduation.
OK, this appears to be the part that you are talking about. I can see where it appears you only have to take 6 hours. But it doesn't. It's saying it's OK to earn 6 (meaning you probably flunked 2 classes that semester), but you still had to TAKE 12 hours. And still maintain the earned from the above quote. So if you are kicking arse with a great GPA and on track to earn 60% by the end of your third year, yes, you can ignore 2 of your 4 classes that semester and still be OK. But you still have to take the 4 classes. Make sense?

I think the 12 hour enrollment applies only to freshman.
Only place the 12 hour requirement appears is with freshman.

I was half way interested but stopped reading at "microsaggressions."
That term can kindly suck its own dick.

Nigel Hayes is quite the drama queen lately.
Lately? He's always been an attention whore, although that's not to say his recent statements regarding race have no validity since I haven't been on campus in years except for football weekends.

Good for them. We know the white fans won't stick up for them and the white Administrators only care about the $ they bring in. Most will say get back to playing your opinion doesn't matter just like the posts in this thread.

the person in trump mask had a noose around an obama and a hillary masked person.
It wasn't just Odummy, they had it on Hillary also.

Earn 6 hours, it doesn't specify the amount. The lsu site does.

I just can't imagine a fan making the effort to go to a game to pull for a team that is a majority black, but this same person will also scream "Go back to Africa!". If this does happen, the person is mentally deranged. I would hope people wouldn't be offended by that. Instead, they would feel sorry for this social pariah that likely lives out their days in unhappiness.

So the away fans can say "go back to Africa" to them and their team's black players don't have a problem with it? Alright.
I've heard worse things said to outfielders though lol

Seriously? We have fans that tell our QBs to kill themselves. You think fans would stoop to death threats but not racism if a player isn't playing well?

I heard plenty of racist comments about JaMarcus Russell while at LSU. Ironic since it's been downhill since.

Did he include his Venmo so we can send the hungry crusader some money for food?
I don't care if he's right or wrong here, but as his coach I would be absolutely furious. This statement reflects not only on him, but the rest of the team, the coaches, and the university. This will be nothing but a distraction.

That thing is way too big and red to give it shot and read it.

I have seen some divide as to whether this was some "political wack-job" or a legitimate act of racism
Considering it was an Obama AND Hillary costume, that pretty much answers the questions. Idiots playing the race card where it isn't warranted, as usual.

Greg Gard has talked at length about his players and social issues. This isn't the first time Nigel Hayes has spoken-out about race relations. In particular, at UW-Madison, it has been a controversial subject over the last year or two.
Bronson Koenig is Native-American and has gone to North Dakota to protest the pipeline. He is looked-up to in that community.
Nigel Hayes has been using his platform as the university's most well-known African-American to bring about discourse of race-relations on both a university and national level.
I disagree that it will be a distraction, especially given the Chancellor and Athletic Director's response to dozens of Wisconsin student-athletes tweeting this message.
