I've seen more and more posts claiming that "Jimbo Fisher is too much like Les Miles" with no explanation supporting why they feel that way. So please explain yourselves for those of us that don't understand. How is Jimbo Fisher similar to Les Miles?

I said you will have similar results.

They both have one outlier of a great season and then a bunch littered with losses to less talented teams.

The biggest diff is Jimbo has the most talent in his conference, Les doesn't in his own division.

Some years LSU finished top 10 in recruiting but have the 5th best class in the sec.

We can do a lot worse than Jimbo though.

Me too. I'm more comfortable with JF than any other candidate. He literally checks every box and then some. He even knows how to handle the transition of taking over for a legendary coach. That's a quality many are overlooking.

Possibly b/c Jimbo seems to be stubborn in his ways. Meaning, a lot of people claim he hasn't adapted his style to the changing of college football.

This is not my opinion necessarily, I am just connecting dots to what I am reading.

simple, he's lost games this year. To "lesser" teams like L'ville and UNC. He doesn't win every game 56-3 in the ACC and "the ACC sucks so what will he do in the SEC" He "only" won the NC because of Winston (never mind he recruited and developed Winston ). Stuff like that

Seriously i think Saban and to an extent Meyer have warped perceptions of what is realistic.

The only thing with Jimbo that I am concerned with is in his last 15 games he is 9-6. LSU just fired a coach who went 10-5 in his last 15 games.

Say what you want, but winning games matters in college football.

You have to remember this will be diff than when he took over at FSU. He had already been recruiting the entire offense. None of the players at LSU will be his players like they were at FSU.

Fair enough, but Jimbo has dealt with different problems at FSU that Les never dealt with at LSU.

13 was the outlier. He loses to lesser teams every year. I'm not basing my thoughts on one season.

My argument was for last year. I just didn't think LSU should be paying Miles buy out and then go pay more for Jimbo.

But now that Les is gone, you got to get the best available. He may just be that.

Like what?

He didn't have a hurricane destroy the most fertile recruiting ground in his state. Nola still isn't up to its ore Katrina population.

WHAT!?!?! Jimbo, very much literally, has an 11.33 average wins per season. WTF are you smoking?

It's ok to not want him as the coach, but don't pretend the man isn't one of the elite coaches in the game today.

"fisher is miles."

except for the play calling, qb development and x's and o's part.

so, that would make him better, no?
