Etling is in the same position. Throw an INT or two against Bama and people will be jumping off his bandwagon real quick.

I'm personally keeping an eye on how Herman runs his program this year as well as CEO since they are the two top candidates at the moment. Those crappy loses to unranked teams has me really concerned about TH getting his teams ready to beat teams that he is supposed to beat. I'm tired of that crap. If CEO manages the Tigers well and I don't see any mismanagement of the clock, getting plays in late, stupid head coaching decisions etc...I will probably lean towards CEO by the end of the season. My only concern with CEO is his ability to hire assistants. We haven't seen that aspect of his game in recent years.

And that would be a shame. LSU fans are the most spoiled fan base in the country and its not even close.

this is always dicey, but i liked that he created the GM position for Austin Thomas and has said he'll take a lower salary to ensure more money for assistants ( just like Harbaugh did).

these are good signs to me.

He has to win because of his resume. He just doesn't have enough success as a HC. It was a long time ago and his time under Pete Carroll and the saints have taught him a lot imo, along with maturity and age. He's 9-2 since ole miss which is impressive enough to get him another shot at HC but is it enough to get a job like Lsu ? I want O to get it and I believe he could do well but he has to win 3 of 4 with a close loss to bama at worst to get a shot at Lsu. What he's done holding recruiting together and product on the field is amazing. Ppl may not realize how close Lsu was to a huge collapse. Les was losing the locker room and the coaches were divided. It was gettin ugly fast. The national media may not have known any better but alleva made the move in the nick of time.

My deal is this. If at the end of the day if LSU wins out less an Alabama win, but yet plays competitive to the end, then CEO has to be considered for the job and I wouldn't be disappointed if he got it.

Some on here discount what he has achieved so far and don't recognize how he has instilled functionality into this football program. It is not all emotion!

Not gonna lie I did when Les was here. Coach O is different since we are actually playing good ball right now. Still would rather the 3 or 4 top guys over him no matter how he does.

Depends on what kind of game it is. They have been winning Natties for a reason so losing to them isn't like losing to the Aggies or Hogs

Depends on how the team plays. If they are prepared, execute, don't make dumb mistakes (penalties) and still get beat because Bama is the better team I would see no reason to place blame. If he has these boys ready to play that is good enough for me.
