Hard-hitting, tough, ball-hawking, smart safety. Was a leader on his Defense and team.

Played for the Bears.

Go look up Craig's stats from his senior year against Jesuit. Keep in mind he was a safety.

smart, heady, coach on the field, high motor.

nah, but really he played great for us. great vision and field awareness put him in position to make a lot of plays. didn't bring the wood like LaRon, but hit hard enough. if you're making a list of the lineage of great safeties that have played for LSU, his name is easily on there.

Solid safety. His ballhawking/big hit ability made up for what he lacked in coverage skills.

He was a sure tackler and ball hawking safety. Played a lot longer in the NFL than I thought he would because I didn't think he was going to be fast enough but a great safety for LSU during his time

Pretty sure he had more receptions than all the MSU WR combined and more return yards than MSU offense had yards in the 2007 opener.

Craig Steltz was the man.

He had that white boy swag with the hair and New Orleans accent but will but your dick in the dirt. I remember he put a hit in a Fresno state player from the back thought he broke him in half. We won the Alabama game in sabans first year in 2007 on 4th down. The Alabama wr caught the ball but steltz put a hit on him causing him to drop it. He was a great player.
