Would you go for the win, or tie it up and play Bama in overtime?

If it comes down to a field goal to tie it, or do we go for the win. Would you want Bama in overtime?

we haven't had much success in OT

ETA: I assumed you were talking about kicking the PAT vs going for 2. If it's a typical field goal I'll need more info. What yard line?

With zero additional info, you go for overtime.

From up to 2 yards out I'd go for it, but further than 2 I'm kicking and playing extra football.

I'd go for the win.

Everyone would be keying in on LF so I'll fake the dive to LF, bootleg Etling, and have a TE release from the back of the formation to scrape across the back of the end zone as a outlet in case he can't run it in.

I would take it to OT . You want real attrition in order to beat Alabama. This team is like the 2012 team ....better than people think. You take these bastards as far as you have to. Wear them out. I want 4 OT's minimum, because that is where the game get interesting

Kick for the tie for sure and take our chances in overtime. Our red zone defence.

You could run a play similar to what we did on the play that Fournette destroyed Deontay Anderson last Saturday.

I'd imagine that Fournette at FB (whether offset or straight I) and Guice in the backfield would be one hell of a confusing situation from two yards out on who to key in on.

Against their d line? OT

Also, they can block kicks. They're good.

The general rule of thumb is go for OT at home. Away game is kind of a toss up but leaning toward go for the win.

As Box indicated other factors may play into the decision like injuries during the game and momentum.

Well, since 2005, we've had four overtime games against Alabama, and all four were won by the road team.

Depends.

If we were up and Bama made a late game rally, I try to win it in regulation. Don't let them carry momentum into OT.

If we come from behind and have momentum, take it to OT and win it there.

Never understood the go for OT logic. What does OT ultimately come down to? One play where you have to score to win. Usually a TD.

You're GIVEN that with a 2pt conversion. In optimal field position. It's borderline retarded to walk away from having your foot on their throats while still taking a chance to even tie it.

I tend to agree, but I think it would depend on the circumstances going on in the game. If you're getting killed by their offense, you almost assuredly go for it. No sense giving their offense a chance to win the game (exactly like Del Rio did against the Saints in the first game of the season). But, if it's been a tight defensive slugfest, and you have a better FG kicker, you might just take the chance in OT (like our 2011 game in Tuscaloosa).

Play for OT at home and go for the win on the road. One of the oldest "rules" in the book.

Good question. But it depends on the whole flow of the game, how the D has played and so forth. I like going for it all. But sometimes, evening up the score at the end takes their momentum and you go into OT w/ it.

I like that, but with Bama's disciplined LB play it may be minimized. But Fournette on the wheel route ....I think that would be nightmarish for Bama
