Would you trade winning NC this year for better long term future?

Say LSU gets on a roll, win out, and wins the SEC ans NC. Then, we keep Coach O because that would be incredibly impressive. Since the Ole Miss debacle 10 years ago he has been on the Tennessee staff, been head coach at USC, coached in the NFL under Sean Payton, and has been on LSU's staff. I'll grant that he's learned some stuff.

Would you be okay with having Coach O and a NC this year and missing out on Herman or Jimbo and being good for years to come? Or, do you think it would be that much of a trade?

If you had to pick a NC now or the possibility of great teams and NC's later, which would it be?

If he wins it this year he is capable of winning it again.

If he did that with Miles team and LSU didn't hire him no good coach want to be the HC at LSU, it will be a natinal media fiasco.

NCs are invaluable. I would never trade a certain, immediate NC for the mere prospect of potential NCS in the future.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Herman is a very long shot at this point.

I'd take O at this point. However, I think it's great that we don't have to make a decision today.

We're not in the national title conversation this year, just not happening with 2 losses. Even if we beat Bama, they would go to the playoff over us at 11-1 and we're 10-2 with an SEC Title.

That being said, if Coach O wins out, not sure how you dont give him the job. That is a phenomenal job interview first hand.
