And lose a homegame? Something LSU also refusses to do??
Play 3 straight away games. Another thing LSU said they wont do.

And LSU wants to play UF 3 yrs straight in BR. Sure, just helping a brotha out.

LSU offered to play Florida in Gainesville on Saturday.
LSU offered to play Florida in Gainesville on Sunday.

Why did Florida refuse to play LSU on their home field either day?

Why did Florida drag their feet on making a decision until it was too late to make alternative plans to hold the game at all, anywhere?

Miami was able to plan ahead and play their game.
Florida State was able to plan ahead and play their game.

Why does Florida have to stay the most backward school in the state?

How is it South Carolina was able to play their game?
How is it that Georgia was able to play their game?
How is it that NC State was able to play their game?

Why was Florida the only school in America unable to hold a football game last weekend?

And now you wont play a weekend that Bama doesnt play. That has really helped you guys in the past huh?

Show me the team that has played a gauntlet like Ole Miss, Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, and Texas A&M in 5 straight weeks with the last game being played on a Thursday and the final 3 being played in 12 days time all on the road.

The most any team in the SEC plays is 2 SEC games in a row on the road and none of those are with a Thursday game to follow any of them.

To be clear, this is not about the players for any team, but the Admins and the games they have the propensity to play for personal gain. If the game were played in B.R., there's no guarantee there would have been more than 70,000 people in attendance. USCe had about 40,000 because people make plans during road weekends (weddings, trips, work, etc.)

Summary: Foley is either dishonest, incompetent or both. This situation failed because of Foley and Sankey's ineptitude.
I don't believe ineptitude had anything to do with it.

Florida's entire defensive line injured and Florida's QB injured, had EVERYTHING to do with it.

On the defensive side, things don’t look great for the Gators. Defensive tackle Joey Ivie (thumb), end Jordan Sherit (knee surgery) are both expected to miss this week’s game against LSU, while tackle Caleb Brantley (thumb) and end Bryan Cox Jr.’s statuses are up in the air after seeing only limited action last Saturday.

“Luke Del Rio, he’ll go some today, more tomorrow and Wednesday, and we’ll see exactly where and how much that swells, where the pain is and where the stability is,” head coach Jim McElwain said

Wouldn't the protocol be to contact the SEC first since they were supposed to be the deciding party instead of calling UF first?

I'm thinking chain of command on that, like an office, when a big decision is to be made, don't go to the peer colleague, but to the supervisor.

And given the weather reports about Hurricane Mathew and its potential to cause serious damage to much of Fla. (which virtually the whole country was aware of) WHY WASN'T SANKEY PICKING UP THE PHONE FIRST TO CALL UF and LSU TO WORK OUT A CONTINGENCY PLAN???

I've said it before and I think people took it as a joke, but it's the truth. Foley thought his figurative dick is bigger than it actually is. Once he pulled it out, his ego was hurt by how unimpressed people were.

the fact that this game wasn't played and all of the other ones on the coast and/or in the area were is a direct representation of FAILURE from the SEC commissioner.

he should lose his job over this. he couldn't figure out how to make it work. he's totally in over his head. the SEC needs an actual leader, not some inept moron who can't make decisions when there's literally 7 options in front of you.

Hindsight thing: 20/20. And the problem is the game was postponed because Foley kept Sankey on a string until it was too late instead of being willing to be open to a day/time slot in Gainsville that would have been amenable to all parties.

Exactly! Go ask your arrogant AD why the game couldn't have taken place Sunday or Monday in Gainesville.

He seemed just fine with Florida hosting recruits on Saturday though.

To make LSU and Baton Rouge break a contract with an OOC team, miss out on a home game, lose all the revenue associated with it both for the school and the city, and do away with the opportunity to give a community still suffering from the floods a boost all because Foley was triggered is insane to me.

It seems obvious to me that Florida didn't want to play the game. They could have tentatively scheduled it for Monday.

They could have also tried to play in Tampa. Playing at LSU was also reasonable considering LSU is sympathetic towards these situations and would probably just trade the home game next year.

Foley, McElwain, and Sankey are all being outspoken because they know that they are obviously in the wrong and are losing the PR battle.

Everyone knows this was a football decision.

A football decision while hiding behind a hurricane. It's pretty despicable honestly.

Foley was "set off" by Alleva offering to play the game in Baton Rouge.

This is what is crazy. So what if LSU offered to play the game in Baton Rouge. Just say thanks but no thanks. No need to get all pissed off. It was an offer. Just refuse.

But Foley used that offer from Aleva to build his PR campaign to not play the game at all to help his coach.

That's fine too. I don't like it, but don't blame LSU for Florida's problems.

The game will not be played, period. And FLorida wanted it that way.

So what if Alleva suggested to play the game in BR? If that "set" Foley off to avoid playing the game, it needs to be a Florida forfeit.

Some of you dumbasses amaze me. How in the world you can attempt to blame Aleva in this just proves that you either hate Aleva beyond reason or that you are an appologetic nitwit who has to always seek out wrong where it doesn't exist just to make the other side feel good. What an idiot.

When you start to understand that Florida refused ALL options not because of a hurricane, but because of multiple injures, then it all starts to make sense. They looked at the situation and saw a back door to SECCG. Sankey fell for it.

I even heard that every high school football game in Gainesville was played on Friday night. So even the high schools were able to outsmart UF.

What I think is telling about Foley's position is that he has only issued the one generic press release since all this hit the fan. He's won the battle, as Fla. gets to duck a hard opponent & possibly gets a short cut to the SECCG, so he's keeping his mouth shut & smiling his arse off.
