Foley was "set off" by Alleva offering to play the game in Baton Rouge.

It has been three months since Jeremy Foley, the Florida Gators‘ well-respected and incredibly accomplished athletic director of the last 25 years, announced his retirement effective Oct 1.

By announcing his retirement in advance, Foley provided Florida — where he has worked for the last 40 years in various roles — with nearly four months to hire his replacement.

40 years at UF and this is how Foley will be remembered!

Just like in the military, one "Oh sh*t" wipes out all your "attaboys".

Im not saying I agree, but I could see that happening.

Alleva overplaying his hand early in the week trying to strong arm a game in BR thinking he will have Sankeys support. Turns out Sankey says no lets wait, and then later in the week Foley has the redass and isnt willing to bend an inch

Jesus christ how do these soft, sensitive, preening, prima donna children get into these positions of power?

According to Adam Reardon, sports radio personality in Fla., Foley was "set off" by Alleva offering to play the game in Baton Rouge

To take it a step further, one local host here was told that Alleva went to the SEC office without talking to Florida first early in the week last week. So Florida interpreted that as LSU trying to go behind their backs to orchestrate a move to BR, and that's when Foley became incensed and refused to budge.

Now I obviously have no clue what truly happened, but will say if that is acurate then I wouldn't blame UF for being pissed. HOWEVER...

To carry it as far as they did is even more childish and UF are still a bunch of douchebag bitches even if Alleva DID go behind their backs initially.

NO EXCUSE for carrying it to such an extreme that your bitch-arse can't even agree to push it back to Sunday or Monday in Gainesville.

Now they want more scheduled games to be moved because Florida was too much of a pussy to face LSU when they should have.

How dare LSU offer Tiger Stadium as an alternative?

And lose a homegame? Something LSU also refusses to do??
Play 3 straight away games. Another thing LSU said they wont do.

And LSU wants to play UF 3 yrs straight in BR. Sure, just helping a brotha out.

What don't you understand about all this ?
LSU offered SEVEN different game options to foley = FACT
Foley offered TWO in return i.e. "game will NOT be moved from Gainesville" and "game is cancelled ! = Fact
Now, you have a real problem and LSU is to blame ??? MORON

All of your points are non-factors if UF would have agreed to a tentative time on Sunday.

LSU once moved a home game to Arizona State because of a hurricane. They don't want to lose a game simply because Florida had no interest in alternatives last week.

It's not just that they're road games, the biggest part is the third is already on a short week, meaning three road games in 13 days. To my knowledge there were no proposals for Florida to play in Baton Rouge last Thursday. Have you heard differently?

Initially I thought Foley jut really didn't want that "refugee stigma" for his entitled Gators but still doesn't explain not wanting to play there Sunday/Monday. Then I started thinking it had to do with LSU being by far the most attractive home opponent on their schedule this year. Now I'm thinking he was just being flat out stubborn. That's the only plausible excuse for not playing this past weekend. And it's the major reason I don't want Alleva giving in to him. It really is a bad example he's setting for their next AD. I hope he can see it as how not to operate in the future.

It is all very simple. Lets not over complicate it.

Two points:
1. Offering to play the game here is not strong arm tactics. It is an OFFER!

2. The ONLY reason the game was not played somewhere this weekend is because Florida is afraid to play LSU. There is a techical term for this. It is call pussing out!
