A-Rod and David Ortiz Hall of Fame quandary

Why is it that Alex will be left out of the hall of fame potentially forever while David will walk in . David Ortiz failed a test and his career was suspiciously turned around from twins washout to Red Sox legend . He broke the same rules that Alex did but because he comes off more likable he will get in while Alex gets screwed. Not to mention that Alex was a way better player who was a all around megastar while Papi only hits. Do you think it's bs ?

Been on roids his whole career

Anyone who thinks Papi is clean I've got some land to sell you.

I agree with you OP. It's dumb af that is how it's going to work out, but baseball voters are the some of the dumbest groups of people of all time. David Ortiz will be in, and A-Rod won't. It's stupid, but that's how it will go down which doesn't make sense. (For the record, both should 100% be in the HOF. I couldn't give 2 shits if they took steroids honestly)

Players shouldn't get in based on who else has been put in or left out. Each case should be its own.
I think Ortiz has earned a spot. He's a legendary player from his era.

I think Papi has been clean for 10 plus years. Dude supposedly gets tested constantly.
That being said, if someone doesn't want to vote him in because he's a DH, I have no issue with it.

The day Ortiz gets into the Hall before Bonds, Clemens, and ARod is the day the Hall officially becomes a joke.

Why does does this board seem so butt hurt about Ortiz?

Ortiz never 'failed a test.' His name has been brought up and there may be fire where there's smoke but he was never caught red handed like a rod

Not sure why so many are still in denial, that part is not up for debate.

When did ARod or Bonds actually fail a test? ARod was suspended for a year without actually failing a test.

Palmerio 500 HRs and 3000 hits. One of only five in MLB to do it.

Eh he never confirmed what he failed for because they supposedly didn't tell him. It was shitty that out of the 200 or so players that tested positive for stuff, they only leaked like 4 names.

Eh he never confirmed what he failed for
I just find it odd that we do this thread weekly or monthly and multiple guys always argue that he didn't fail a test or there's no proof.
Ortiz and the PLayer's Union confirmed it.
And for the record, I don't care I think different or less about him in the slightest for it.
