How confident does it seem LSU is with getting Herman? Pretty crazy that after him they feel they will be in panic mode already?

If they started trying to sling money at Herman, I'd donate the moment they informed us.

There is no way you can rule out the top four. They are possible, though extremely unlikely.

It's still Fisher, Herman, and probably O, in that order.

i like the tide fans that are rational about it, they know a great hire for LSU means alot in the grand scheme of the sec/national implications. a bad hire is what it is and would set us back quite a bit.

and you know who they all want us to hire? Orgeron.

That should tell every LSU fan a whole lot. SEC fans are pulling the "LSU should hire Orgeron, he's a perfect fit" card just hoping that becomes reality.

exactly.

Orgeron is not the answer. He's a damn great DL coach and recruiter, however, this program needs a Head Coach.

McCaffery is a different player than LF. Both are studs, but they do different things. That's not to say Les would have had any idea what to do with McCaffery though.

I'm just worried about Shaws ability to recruit La and Tx. Can he do it? Maybe. But, recruiting at Stanford is entirely different than recruiting at LSU or any other SEC school for that matter.

He's gotten players from TX and even Georgia, so I'm not too worried.

Last I heard, they would then be in panic mode and throw more money to Shaw

Why on earth did they fire Les a month into the season without having a coach in pocket? If Jimbo was first pick, he has close ties with LSU. Why run the risk of becoming a laughingstock by going about it how they did? Putting the players through turmoil, and not have a coach at least close to locked in?

I know exactly what it means.

Terms and conditions were agreed upon but deal fell though in the final hour.

I would probably burn down the athletic department if they hire Kiffin. I would fight Alleva. We would square up in the parking lot.

No coach currently coaching will sign a contract before the season is up. You make phone calls, gauge intrest, the best you can do.

1. because there are multiple options available that are better than Les.

2. ticket sales were about to plummet.

3. everyone was tired of Miles. It was time to go.

4. to throw your hat into the ring early. Firing Miles tells everyone we are serious.

Pulling a player here and there is not the same as recruiting an entire class. And again, it's an entirely different philosophy to go from recruiting kids to Stanford to recruiting kids to LSU.

He may be great at it, but we don't know. We know Herman can recruit the south and we know Jimbo can recruit the south.

SEC recruiting is a different animal, going to have to fight dirty. Will Shaw do that?

Trent Johnson tried to stay above it and failed miserably, different sport but still pretty comparable.

So it was a non-binding agreement in principle, not a done deal.

Glad we could clear that up.
