Brett Dawson is leaving the Pels beat to go cover OKC. I can't link Twitter as on my computer right now. He tweeted it this morning.

Kinda sucks. Liked his podcast and his articles. Kushner is not taking over the podcast either. I really wish I stuck with sports journalism as I would be jumping all over this.

He was definitely a breath of fresh air compared to Jimmy Smith. Kushner does well and Reid is tolerable, but I liked having a pure bball guy covering the team. Depends on who the Advocate gets to replace him.

He was fantastic, as is Scott. But Justin Verrier is still here with ESPN. Between him and Scott, Pels fans are in way better hands than they were when it was just Jimmy and Reid.

But he will be missed. I liked his pods; loved his writing.

This LEGITIMATELY pissed me off and ruined my day. I was a HUUUUUUGE fan of his podcasts and I appreciate his work.

The only podcast we are left with now is In the NO, which pisses me off with their depressing pessimistic bullshite coverage of the team. Also they are not as consistent with coverage as Locked on Pelicans podcast was.

I honestly am ashamed of what's coming of the coverage this team gets, and it feels like we really don't have any consistency with proper coverage of radio or podcast coverage. I personally feel as a fan I care more about the Pelicans more then some writers here. Brett Dawson was one of the few that gave me hope.

Idk. Maybe Gerry V will come back, or Sports hangover finally come out of living under the rock. But man this pisses me off greatly, Brett Dawson was my coverage guy since MM left. Now we have no podcast again except that negative arse In The NO podcast that randomly pops up out the blue :(

Bro I just want freaking consistent Pelicans Podcasts. Is that so much to ask? Hell I'll even pay someone for quality coverage and if podcasts are CONSISTENT.

I guess I should have given his content more of a shot. Dawson was a terrible twitter follow. Had to cut ties months ago

I couldn't do the podcast, but its not his fault. He wasn't really allowed to say anything. He would talk for 30 minutes, but couldn't give his honest opinion or unload any scoops.

Talk to him behind the scenes though, and he's awesome. I wish THAT version could have been on the podcast

Schwann is good. The rotating guests have been mostly bad. Not that they're stupid or anything, they just should stick to writing as there are too many awkward silences and short answers from them. He had one REALLY good guest, but I don't remember his name.

ETA: Listening to the newest episode now (it's been a while since I listened). Graham has been really bad in previous episodes, but he sounds a lot more comfortable in this one. He could pull a David Wesley and turn into a solid 2nd guy.
