That's not an offense. That's a passing game.
The team put up 34, and the offense put up 27 in 3 quarters. That's not too bad. Granted it was against JSU, but the point is we don't need stellar numbers from etling. If he can do enough to get 8 out of the box, our offense is instantly much better. He did that against jsu, and he has the ability to do it again this weekend

Media is done with us until we do something meaningful. Shitting the bed against an average team will do that.

It will change this week, that's for sure, and hopefully for the better.

Raw statistics have to be put into context, or else they are meaningless.
No one disparaged Matt Mauck when he came in relief of Rohan Davey in the 2001 SEC championship game, and proceeded to go 5-15 for 50 yards. He showed leadership and led the Tigers to victory, even though the numbers didn't look impressive, his performance on the field sure did.

It will be a shitstorm of "media publicity" if State beats LSU ........ which is very doable.

Media has been all over it. Not sure what the hell youre talking about. ESPN especially.

LSU vs MissSt games are usually lackluster unless MissSt wins.
Take 2014 for example.

Thank you for that insight, the Rant is blessed to have some very knowledgeable LSU football fans posting here, not many but some.

Enough with this shite. He looked good out there. There is a difference between an incompletion that is a one on one deep ball that the WR doesn't come down with and an incomplete 3 yard flat route that sails over the WRs head.
Regardless of opponent, this was the most poised an LSU QB has looked since mettenberger. If you can't see it, you don't know what you are looking for. He did a lot of little things that our previous QBs just couldn't/can't seem to execute.

LSU's passing offense was this fun to watch.
I am will reserve my excitement until I physically witness this again. 10-20 and 180 yards is not going to cut it for me. It is an improvement but weak.

Moo State? meh. We will definitely make news if we lose.
It will make the news if LSU passes for over 200 regardless of a win or not. (Hopefully we shove it down their throats, ready for this offense to move the damn ball regardless of concepts and strategies)

Etling will probably have under 200 yds passing, but that ground game is gonna roll.
LSU with at least 450 total offense and we'll be back on track.

It still isn't fun to watch, IMO.

Can you blame the media?

After playing Mississippi State? I doubt it. Fournette would have to go off and we would have to demolish them for that to happen.

Amen brother. I predict a close outcome, but win or lose, LSU needs to stick with Etling, he showed a coolness in the pocket that rivals or maybe is even better than Mettenberger, only the really good ones possess that kind of awareness. Harris certainly doesn't, he should not see another snap.IMOP
