Wanting to take some people on a trip to Grosse Savanne for either a cast and blast or fishing trip. Anybody on here ever been and what was your experience?
Just looking at their website, they seem pretty pricey.

I have been several times and I would say it is worth it especially if you are entertaining clients. They take care of everything. A trip like this is much more enjoyable if you stay the second night. You wont feel rushed and have to enjoy and relax.
If you are going to just do a quick cast and blast you could probably find something cheaper.
They book up fast so you may want to check availability before you mention it to anyone.

Its a really great place. They have nice hunting set ups and the food is amazing. For the price of a kidney or your first born child it would be a fun weekend

I went with a friend and his dad in July for a fishing trip and thought it was awesome. Definitely one of my top outdoor experiences. It's the kind of place you just sit back and relax and they take care of absolutely everything.
Nice lodge with tvs, couches, screen porch, etc,. Open bar with snacks available the whole time to make you own drinks. Great food all four meals we ate there, including filet one night and huge crab cakes the next. Really hospitable staff and guides that made it very enjoyable.
We fished Big Lake one morning/afternoon for specks and did well, but the highlight was a morning fishing trip to their 500+ acre private bass lake. That was the most fun I've ever had fishing. Caught 75+ bass all in the 2-5 pound range in about 2 hours all while drinking beer and shootin' the shite with the guide.
I can't wait to go back for another trip. Wanna do I cast and blast when I get time.
ETA: I will add that I did not pay for it, but did hear them settling up at the end and for 4 people to stay 2 nights, eat 4 meals, fish three times, and each get a fishing shirt it was $3,300 total not including tips.

The food is good, the fishing was great, we shot our limit of ducks and the guides were cool. It's a very fun trip.

Took customers I think five times. Enjoyable, I wouldn't pay my money to do it personally. ROI was good for client or customers

We got lucky and I was s groomsman in a wedding where the groom had an uncle that was close friends with owner. They got us a huge huge deal as we were all broke college kids or just out of school.
Classy operation. Huge lounge room, great view, more lodging than you know what to do with, and they take care of everything. The dinners were awesome events and all the folks there were awesome.
We did a dove blast and salt water cast.

I've been invited on business trip last two years in a row and couldn't make either one. Pretty disappointed it didn't work out either time

Place is awesome! Company I used to work for...we started going there 4-5 yrs ago for a client trip. Probably 12 or so people for a 3 day trip. Having that much time is the way to go if you can afford it. They handle everything and like others have said you'll eat like kings. Shot limits of ducks in marsh and fields and caught limits of redfish in the afternoon. Guides were all pretty good and fired up about finding/killing birds. Will go again if I can get a spot for my new company. Contacted them for this season and no dice. They give first right of refusal to existing groups/clients so it's hard to get in.
The old Cajun that guided for yrs around white lake is hilarious. We'd have him in the dining room after dinner telling jokes and everybody was crying.
Absolutely great experience if you get the chance to go.

Sounds like it's a first class operation. Their website says 1k per person for a blast and cast. I'm just not seeing this though, that's high as giraffe pussy

Most guides in this area charge approx $300 a gun for a hunt and $600 for a fishing trip. Plus food and lodging. Not too bad for all inclusive.

Oh, it's high as can be. I can see it's only use as a business function where you try to provide a helluva an experience for your customers
But for me I'd rather have a kick fire, bourbon, and scratch w friends than spend my cash to go myself

$600 for a fishing trip is to book the whole boat. The only time I have ever paid $600 per person is for an overnighter and that includes tip. I have also never gone on an overnighter without bringing back hundreds of pounds of meat

I think it's an Orvis approved operation so I guess that gives them a greenlight to charge a premium because of the great service/accomidations they offer. I have never heard anybody that has been complain but I think the place caters to the upper end corporate world and I doubt those people are going to get on places like the OB and drop the hammer if it sucked.

I don't think you'll see very many complain. That is a first class operation. I know a handful of the guys over there. They know what they are doing, that's for sure.

I just took my dad over there for a three day trip this past April. As stated above, the highlight of our trip was the 500 acre lake. We caught more than 100 two to six pound largemouths in a couple of hours...all on topwaters. The morning before we checked in, a young rep from Hobie pulled a 12 pounder out of the lake. We hammered reds in the marsh and went back to the bass lake for limits of crappie to bring home. The food, kitchen staff and guides are all top notch and worth every penny. Go!
