Count me in... We have 6 gigs. I have my son's and wife's phones operating on wi-fi only. I know I don't use up 6 gigs of data per month.
I do believe they are screwing their customers. We could be sitting around not even on our phones and we all get the text message saying we are down to 10% of our data plan.

They told me they "recorded my usage" and found that something was wrong. How that happened, nobody knows. It was corrected after I bitched.
I got credited for those months of overages

shite, AT&T does it too. I had 20 gb per month and I only surfed the net. No streaming, no music, and they would still tell me I was going over my data limit. Impossibru
That's insane. I don't believe it.
I'm with Verizon and I've only used 1.4 gb this month and I surf the internet all the time!

I've used around 12GB/month for about 2 years now. When they rolled out the new plans I went to 16GB/month because every so often I'd go over the 12GB by a little.
I'm not sure how it happened but last month I only used 3GB and my usage pattern hasn't changed that drastically that I can tell. Now after rollover I have over 30GB to use this month ...I love Verizon.

Never had a problem with Verizon data over limit fees. Now AT&T will try to screw you over every which way possible. I'm still shocked people actually have AT&T after the flood.

I've been shocked that people in south LA use ATT ever since I first started using Verizon back in 2007ish. I didn't think days without dropped calls was possible before that.

AT&T Introduces New Unlimited Plan For AT&T Wireless and DIRECTV Subscribers
Over the last year I kept buying more and more data with Verizon. Our bill for the four in our family was running about 350.00 a month. We have been with Att for 7 months and love it....no more surprise bills and all the internet they need

No issues with my data and Verizon. Sucks for you guys.

I've noticed that my usage has about doubled the last cpl mos with no changes in routine. We would never even come close to going over and have gone over by 1GB or less the past two cycles and are on pace again this cycle. This is after usually having several GB left.
Because the overages were so small, Verizon has not charged for them (after calling them) but I have actually cut back on my usage and still see my data usage on the increase.
I was going to make a thread asking if anyone else had noticed this.
I love Verizon service as I never have a dropped call and there are only a cpl of remote areas that I can even think of where I don't get service but if this shite doesn't stop I may have to switch.

Also if you have a shite ton of apps, turning off automatic downloads will help too. Especially if you allow them over LTE.

I'm glad I still have my unlimited data plan with Verizon. They're some bastards.

This X1000.
Or you can go into the settings menu and select each app you have and turn off access to cellular data. If there are certain apps you know you only use on Wi-Fi go in and turn off their access to cellular data and then could prevent you from running them or them updating without wi-fi

I've had the same problem with Verizon. In the wee hours of the morning daily my wife's iPhone would use 200 mb despite it just charging. I think it had to do with cloud back up. I changed the app settings for a number of things and it's been better.
You can also edit auto video play settings for things like Facebook and Instagram
And as people mentioned disable cellular data for some all apps you don't use when remote. Only apps I let use cellular data are Apple Music, email, waze, chrome, and Facebook

In the last year, I have gone over the limit four or five times. ALWAYS on the day that it resets for the next month. I have called each time and they removed the charge. Getting sick of dealing with it as something isn't right.

I'm somehow about to be over my limit with AT&T despite traveling out of the country and having my phone in airplane mode for a week. Good times

I had consider malware. If it is malware, it's a signature that my anti-virus is not picking up.

Just turn off background app updating and turn off apps you don't use often and you'll bring your data under control.
Easy.
Easy.

Already have them restricted

It's also not a solution. I've done all of this already.
