I realize JSU isn't Wisconsin. But the fact is, our starter was making many of the same throws as we all saw him make, this past Saturday night.
It would have sure been nice to give him a rest and let Etling settle the offense down, a bit.

100% agree. And we're sitting nice and pretty in the Top 5.

It's hard to argue with this.

i agree with this but also I think the loss to wiscy allowed for miles to even think about playing etling so it was kind of a necessary evil to lose

We lost by two with BH. Pretty sure DE could've put together better drives and kept our defense off longer.

Another blatantly obvious hard truth: If either Jimbo or Herman were our head coach, Etling would've been named starter in the Spring, and we'd be 2-0 after beating both Wisky and JSU in relative blowouts.

Les is setting us back, big time. This can only be seen as false if you don't believe we can recruit anywhere near as well with Jimbo or Herman or another top hire.

What if it was 2nd half Etling? Do you still think we win?

I'm not sure if any of you noticed that blank stare in Harris's face when they showed him on the sideline. That was all I needed to see. And look, I get that the guy was upset that he was pulled. Did he show any signs of life or willingness to help this team? I didn't notice.

Right. If we win that game he may have not pulled Harris against JSU

This may help us in the long run

only if we get 2nd half play calling and 2nd half drops and 2nd half lackluster effort on 50/50 balls

You're not wrong. A good coach would've put Etling in simply because Harris needed to see the game

Well that's what we had in Wisconsin

All I'm saying is that it was one quarter. Let's see how practice goes this week and how Etling does at the game this weekend. The Wisconsin D was flying to make plays. It definitely was no given

a hard truth, asserting an alternate path would've lead to a more fortuitous outcome can not be disproven. or proven.

The biggest advantage he gives this team isn't what most people are looking in terms of just being a more accurate passer than Harris. While that definitely does seem to be the case, just the chance to NOT go 3 and out and allow the defense to rest and regain their legs is a HUGE advantage in and of itself. It allows for a chance to control the time of possession and field position rather than constantly putting the defense in a hole and forcing them to have to be perfect to even have a chance to win the game.
