Worked at a chicken joint in high school but it's been a while since I fried anything. Looking for something good to make this weekend.

Nothing.

Too dang messy and disposing of the oil too much trouble.

My buddy recreated the Billy's boudin eggroll thing the other day. Buy some boudin, some eggroll wrapers and some pepperjack cheese. Uncase the boudin, pack it around a chunk of pepper jack, wrap it in the wrapper, and deep fry for a minute or two. Bone appa teet.

Aside from shrimp, my sole reason to break out the Fry Daddy 2-3 times a year: homemade thin cut battered onion rings. I love the thin kind, lightly battered so the onion itself browns a bit during the cooking.

pizza rolls.

Wait! Wut?

How have I never done this?

I use my fry daddy for non-protein stuff mostly. Fish, shrimp, and chicken ruin the oil too quickly, IMO. So fries, hush puppies, okra, etc...

Yeah I was leaning toward donuts or beignets but the onion rings and boudin egg rolls also sound great. I'd do pickles if I knew my wife would eat them. I'm going to be using it a lot this football season.

ETA fried avacado also sounds really good
