ESPN is dumb AF about swinging way left bc the majority of their audience is not liberal.
Hardcore sports fans are neutral/right mostly.
You would think, but these things move the needle for some reason. I don't really get it.

I am pretty disgusted at the number of people that think what he did is justified.
I'm pretty surprised at the number of people that still don't understand that the best way to handle an attention whore is to ignore them.
Even if you disagree with them (I don't care at all if he or anyone else stands at attention for the anthem...I do and sing and his not doing so doesn't effect me at all and I completely disagree with his idiotic reason for why he's doing it) but why give him the attention he's craving? He's doing it PRECISELY to have this be a discussion topic. If you disagree with both or either of his actions or reasons, the best way to shut him down would be to simply ignore his dumb arse and go on about your life.
Then the ball's in his court to up the ante to gain the attention he wants so badly.
Sort of like walking down some street in the French Quarter and you encounter a guy wearing nothing but a leather mask and a thong. Sure...he's a fricking imbecile and SURE you'd love to point and laugh...but isn't it funnier to walk past him and say, "Sup?" as if he's just some guy dressed in jeans and a tshirt? You know he's got to be thinking "What the frick do I have to do do outrage people?!?" if that's what he gets. I love doing that to people that crave that sort of attention...
Same with Kaep...

When did Cold Pizza start? It was right around then. It happened around the time ESPN2 launched...

Neither do they, as evidenced by the continued cuts to payroll and production.

Hardcore sports fans turn on ESPN to watch sporting events and ignore the hell out of every other piece of trash commentary they put out.
That's why they don't affect the needle of the garbage inbetween.

Actually due to the nature of the sports TV environment with massive rights fees and falling subscription fees.

You know what is awesome? Only turning on ESPN when it is time to watch a game.
Still getting that outrageous ESPN subscription fee $$$$$$$ from the outraged/ butt hurt .

Just curious. Seems like this year is its peak there.
When people started getting sports highlights from TV and just encouraged their on-air talent to talk. Once that happened, you see how all of these journalists live in the same ideological echo chamber in New York.
I'm always amazed by this too. Does ESPN think it doesn't have any conservative viewers that they should cater to?

Why do you think people are dropping ESPN? Because they can watch the games at a bar, restaurant, friends house, and the remaining product is garbage.

Ugh, I wish FOX Sports 1 was a success in the beginning so we won't see these threads

When did ESPN start going full on lefty?
Small step in 84 when purchased by ABC, Giant leap in 95 when purchased by Disney. Still enough varnish on the model to hide it until recently. The varnish has worn thin at this point. Probably because they don't see any real competitors out there.

They're dropping ESPN because it's not a good investment in this day and age. While it feels good to say garbage programming and a leftwing bias has caused the decline in revenue, it's simply not true. ESPN was thriving 10 years ago with garbage programming before ROKU, decent online streams, etc.

I swear. Some of you define "liberal" as "having an opinion or life experience that isn't the same as mine."

!
Its not new. Disney owns ESPN. Nuff said!

You saying ESPN isn't liberal?

If that's true, ESPN will start hurting. The market dictates, and right now that market is skewing liberal so we will get to see economics in action if your hypothesis is correct.
