Just finished watching number 3 for the first time in many, many years, and I believe that it's the best of the bunch.

The first is easily the best for me

#1 Is my favorite. #2 Is nearly as good. #3 Is good but not as good.

first one, the second is pretty good, but i don't like the third act as much.
The third I loved as a kid, but don't like as an adult.

The 1st one is an all-time classic.

The first one is a classic, period.
They completely nailed the second one though. It does exactly was a sequel should do.
The third is solid and very entertaining.
Great trilogy. Its a shame michael j fox was diagnosed with parkinson's shortly afterward. I miss seeing him in stuff

It's the first one and this should not be much of a debate.

It's a tight race between 1 and 2 for me, but I'm partial to the latter

I'm shocked that so many of you are not picking 1. I thought 2 and 3 were average at best.

Without a doubt the original. However I will say that even if the sequels are unnecessary, they are textbooks examples of how sequels should be approached: with invention and care.

First one is the best and anyone who says otherwise is not to be trusted

1 is the best, but 2 is my favorite.

the first
what's crazy is how 2 and 3 were made at the same time and how much different the movies are received/liked
i guess 3's gimmick (old west) is just seen as inferior to that of 2's (the future)
