I think that is the worst part about this system. Pretty much all of them have a tropical system entering the gulf but all we can do is speculate and wait for it to take its sweet arse time getting organized. That last run has far too many models on the west side for my liking.

Yes, but many of the models are not showing development until Saturday/early Sunday. The problem is people are not patient and they expect this to blow up over night.

If this does hit, when will it hit? I know the Baton Rouge area, Denham Springs, etc doesn't need this.

i disagree. I feel like this thread needed to be started for those in BR, AP, LP. I feel like that being overly cautious for this particular storm does more good than harm.

If you like keeping up with weather and hurricane stuff, give this site a try. More info than you can digest.

That is simply not true but people keep repeating it over and over as if it is. ?

Are you referring to his comment about the accuracy of models without a viable center of circulation?

I'm not an oceanographer but I did work at NAVOCEANO as a developer on HYCOM and many FNMOC models. It's been a while and things have changed a good bit but I am fairly certain ocean modeling accuracy for events like this are still greatly compromised without a good initialization point.

There is a reason that TD accuracy is vastly lower than hurricane model accuracy. Take into account that 5 days out is a crap shoot to begin with i see nothing wrong with his statement.

I wouldn't mind a nice little breeze for next week to keep the temps down. Keep the rain though

One of those spaghetti noodles has it coming to Hattiesburg and joining the ladder day saints and wasting no time going door to door.

The one on Alabama is the best. It's barreling towards Mississippi and then it's like na frick that place and just turns around and goes home
