Crash may be the most god-awful thing I ever saw. Ive never heard one person say they liked that movie.

Right. It won at the oscars I believe, but this board has constantly crapped on Crash.

Almost all superhero movies

That's a good one. I am not much of a fan of the superhero movies.. I hardly ever watch any of them.. can't get into them.. and it's taking over the industry.

I will say I waited forever to watch The Batman Trilogy from Nolan, but when I did.. I absolutely loved it. Especially the first one. I was hooked right in.. didn't expect to watch all three.

There's some sort of nostalgia with The Goonies, I believe.

There is. I saw it at the theater as a kid 2 or 3 times and loved it. Watched it with my kids a couple of years ago and I can see why people don't like it. I still enjoyed it though, mostly because of nostalgia. Kids were indifferent.

I'll probably catch hell for it, but I never liked Ghostbusters.

Matrix
Pretty much all the Tarantino movies
LOTR (and I loved the books as a kid)

Stuff like Scarface and every comic movie ever are overrated, but I don't necessarily dislike them. They're just not deserving of the praise they get.

Recent honorable mention: The Revenant

Why do you hate America, Carson?

I'm going with Naploeon Dynamite and Shakepere in Love.

Right there with you.

I'll add one that's popular here... The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Title's too damn long and the movie was seemed like it would never end too.

I thought it was terrible. Fast forward to a few weeks ago and it was on TCM, so I figured what the heck I'll record it and give it another try. It was just as bad the second time around.

I think "hate" is the wrong word here. I can understand if people think these movies are overrated and not good or great movies, but if people legitimately hate some of these movies listed then I just can't wrap my mind around that. I can't really think of any widely loved movies that I ended up actually hating

I'm not a fan of 90% of comic book movies
There Will Be Blood was only watchable because of DDL. Probably wouldn't have ever finished it if I didn't want to watch his acting
Boyhood and Birdman I thought were very meh
For a classic, I'll say One Flew Over Cuckoos Nest was a letdown for me.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

I've never had the impression that most people love this movie. I'm a Terry Gilliam fan and I don't like this movie at all. A few months ago I forced myself to watch the whole thing which I'd never managed to do before. Nope - not good. It was faithful to the book which I didn't like either so in that respect the movie was faithful to the book.

To be faithful to the subject - Tombstone. I don't hate the movie - it's just mostly meh. But I do hate Val Kilmer's performance. Westerns used to be Westerns, and pirate movies didn't have that Johnny Depp crap "acting". (Fear and Loathing had it - so maybe that's the root of the rot.)
