Will any of us see a flood like this again in our lifetimes?

What say the OT?

I really, really hope not.

Unlikely....but never say never.

An earthquake that will destroy every major city in the world except Jerusalem may be witnessed in your lifetime

Probably so. I don't plan on being dead anytime soon.

Probably
Edit. I wouldn't start building an ark or anything, but I'm sure after Katrina people wondered if they would ever see anything even remotely as bad in So LA.

Im 35. In the past few years I experienced my first serious ice storm, a 100 year flood, and a 500 year flood.
Either the next 500 years will be easy sailing or something is changing in the weather ( global climate warming changes )

They called it the "500 year flood."
I don't know of anyone who can live that long.

Category 5 hurricane wouldn't drop this much rain....unless it just sat on top of us for two days.

I would say yes since the last major one for most of the area affected was 1983.
That gives two major floods for the BR area in my 35 soon to be 36 years of life.

Of course. These "100 year floods" and "500 year floods" will become "every 5 year floods"

Exactly what particular actions do you propose for humanity to do to stop the climate from changing?

depends on how old you are.
you can see the plume of moisture coming up from southwest Mexico on the weather channel.
its not magic.
110 degrees in southwestern Oregon. its a record for them for the date.
the whole USA pattern is unusual
