I do have my truck and we packed a few bags before we got out. We live in Plantation Estates in DS. We lost my wife's car, home, and pretty much everything else. We are safe and dry for now. God bless my friends.

My home is on River Road as well. From what I can tell we have 12 ft of water. Water to the attic.

Can you tell me closely where your house is located? Landmark off of Range or River Road? Ours is almost directly across from the Freshman High.

My aunt (off of Florida) and my cousin (in Denham) were rescued and are with my mom (in Broadmoor).

More than likely they have lost everything.

My parents have (as of last night) 2 ft of water in their home. Both cars gone.

My oldest brother lost everything. Chest deep water in the house and two cars

My other brother has 1 ft of water in his house but the cars seem to be ok.

This is fricking devastating.

Man, really sorry to hear all this. We had a 100 year flood in Nashville in 2010, never seen anything like it. Saw a school portable floating down I-24.

Home is under two feet of water. Was ready to move early Saturday at least, so all the cars are good. Most of our stuff is now part of Claycut Bayou.

in what's being called the 500 year flood

You know that means a 1 in 500 chance of it happening in any given year right?
